OK guys, it was kinda funny at first but now I'm starting to think some of you are actually racist. Can we chill out please? I'm just here to have fun and talk stonks.
>No need to go to such lengths when simple market forces will do it. raising oil prices is essentially the only reason Saudis do 99% of the things they do, with or without market forces
>also, you do realize the house of saud IS a market force, right?
we can assume that shit will just not return to what it was before the crash right?

Remains to be seen if oil majors dump or cut their divy. Shell took out a huge line of credit to ensure it so they might be fine.

Depends. Some of the best div companies 5 years from now may not even started paying divs up to today. I don't chase yields. If I focus on companies with some amount of staying power, growth and cash flows and the dividends will eventually come.
Bentley Wilson
you gotta be patient this market can crab you up if you step into a 3x leveraged position better to not be leveraged for at least a few months

Is now a retarded time to go in on a broad index fund if I'm an investlet and don't have the time or experience to really analyze the stocks I'm buying? Is dollar-cost averaging best left in a 401(k)?
# Seems like that would be counter productive because they'd lose a not insignificant amount of oil, and I can't imagine it would raise their value that much since they're in this position to begin with because people don't want to buy their oil. This isn't even getting into how difficult it would be to pull off in the first place
Doesn't that pic imply that market forces are going to make the situation even worse for them?

Now is a better time than 2 months ago before the market lost 30%. Commit to converting cash into stocks steadily over time with a specific schedule so you don't feel bad about buying at the wrong time. A lot of people here and in the investing world think the market will get worse before it recovers. So it's up to you if you wait a month or two.

BC has been shutting down fairly well, a few straggler bars in Vancouver but those were closed like two weeks ago, the ferry service is 80% reduced, gas is below a dollar for the first time since 2008
you did consent, it's part of the brokerage sign-up process

You lost money when you exchange USD for equity in a company. There's no guarantee that someone will buy that share of equity in the future.

Maybe in 2 months or so unironically. People here meme about how everything is priced in, but it will take time for the economy to start back up, supply chains are fucked currently. Look at China, i'm sure they are lying about their numbers, but it have been several weeks since they lifted their quarantine and their industries have barely restarted.
