Saying there will be a depression or even a recession again is like saying small pox or polio will ever be a major issue again. We know more about economies and how to manage them than we ever have in history. Trillions have gone into the research. Simulations have been run around the clock for decades. We have conquered the very concept of a downturn. We have slaughtered your black swan and made foie gras out of it. This is hard to accept, because it requires you to both accept that 1. there are people out there FAR more intelligent than you and 2. they have things under control. As a result, your life is not and will likely never be that interesting. You're a component of a controlled system. A recession or depression will not rescue you from the high quality life, the best quality of life currently available quite frankly that can still allow stability to be maintained, that you have been given. You might be feel trapped, but that's a good thing. It means the system is working and it also means NO recessions or depressions. We have "beaten" economics
Delusional bullnigger. Everyone knows it's going to get worse before it gets better, shit is gonna hit the fan.
I'm so fucking sick and tired of bulls. Look, the bottom line is the fundamentals of this economy are made of thin air, and with 0% interest rates, they're about to bankrupt even the treasury. Yes, the 30% drop was significant but this was only the beginning. The president has handled this whole debacle like a senile autist, and people are starting to panic knowing that we will be back up and running by May 2022, June 2025 at the latest. China too is fucked. People have begun to realize that this whole thing is huge, and that we'll be dead soon.
People know the future is going to be grim, (hell, the current situation is already...) and THAT is why the markets are going to shit.
History has shown that now is the time to sell. And with several very big green days on the books, we finally have some dead cat bounce. Unfortunately if you're not already out you've missed the top, but it's not too late. If you jump in now you can still make some huge returns. Even bigger as if you'd bought puts last week, but... well, it's either that or lose everything. Your choice.
Austin Butler
I seriously hope you loaded up with calls for tomorrow.

Dude, you're save your keyboard man. There are millions of post 2008 retail robinhoodies that have always won big buying the dip and it's all they know. They will have to learn this lesson the hard way. Then in 11 years when we have another dump and all the normies fomo in they'll be laughing.
Justin Carter
How we looking at KO, XOM, T, and MO?
Matthew Wilson
I FOMO'd into SDOW just now, so I'm sorry for everyone who's short, tomorrow will be a bright blazing green.
Jackson Perry
you guys need to follow zerohedge. despite everything they deliver news like this before anyone else
Jason Thomas
How likely is it 3x leveraged ETFs no longer exist after this because the credit they borrow to create the leverage has dried up? Or they end up changing like a 5% fee which makes them worthless
mostly they create leverage by constructing with futures contracts, not borrowing money to buy 3x of the underlying it's all case-to-case anyway, all leveraged and inv etfs are different
Hunter Stewart
guys
how do leveraged ETFs work with robinhood. Is there any fees i have to worry about?
thinkin about UDOW over along period. Pros/cons?
Nolan Bell
It's that for sure, and a bunch of kids who have no school and nothing to do but act retarded...
I doubled down on DRV today, at the daily top. (VERY foolish!). It's only 14.58 residential REITs. I can't see how these residential REITs will stay solvent. I wonder if there will be more than forebearance on rent. A moratorium on rent collection?
I just type Yas Forums.org/biz/smg and I don't even have to ctrl-F
Matthew Perry
this is why the markets wont bounce back soon.
this will flare up again and again and cost trillions.

The easing never stops. >US Federal Reserve Exempts US Treasury Debt And Federal Reserve Deposits From Supplementary Leverage Ratio For One Year
Jaxson Mitchell
At this point I'm seriously curious as to whether shit will continue to collapse. I don't mean the stock markets. I mean society. Like to the point where even local governments are token government structures at best. Right now the Federal government to me is all but irrelevant and the state government is only providing some general guidance. The local government is still functioning, but only just. Police protection stops at the town line and even the highway patrol aren't even pulling people over.
It's beginning to look a little mad max. If we begin seeing reports of roving gangs I'm fucking done.
Asher Kelly
(((they))) will find new alternatives if it comes to that.
Bentley Cox
So do you buy long term options and cash out the same day, or wait mid way or more near the expiration?
William Jones
KO will borrow money at these rates to keep their dividend King status. However their payout ratio is good for them and shouldn't be an issue in the long run.
XOM I have no idea. This is one that could cave because of the price wars going on with towelheads and vodkabloods
T just paid their dividend which they just increased. They're future depends on 5G and if they can turn their media business into a profit that will pay off their debt, which they're doing pretty well at right now.
MO always finds ways to make money off cancer sticks. They wrote down a lot of debt from JUUL recently and have a decent payout ratio to continue paying. They may stop increasing it for a year or two but I doubt they'll cut
Michael Wood
Same. I'm such a basic bitch brainlet.

>long period don't, use them for day trading. you'll regret it if it comes to bagholding leveraged ETFs and options on top of that.
Angel Hernandez
I picked up some calls hoping that tomorrow has a bounce. SPY 200 4/17 is looking more and more possible.
Asher Peterson
I just came here cause I am off work until shelter and place is over and I wanna make money/learn how to while I’m waiting to go back. Honestly just laughing my ass off even when I get a bad day.
Nathaniel Martin
They’re just like more volitile stocks.
If they’re leveraged then you will lose money while holding long term due to leveraged decay, google it.
Chase Hall
That must be why they never stopped basing the entire economy on mortgage backed securities
Hunter Rogers
Does this mean my bank calls will moon tomorrow?
Christopher Young
FUCK I just worked up the balls for babies first call today and started watching tutorials. Can I start small with a call premium under 300?
I think it depends on where you live it won't be the same everywhere. Certainly it will be interesting to watch :3 I'm not concerned at all, you could say I'm a bit enthusiastic to see what will happen, good or bad.
Curious about this situation myself. Direxion, who runs GUSH, recently stood up a bio tech/pharma leveraged fund. Does that mean with all this crazy shit surrounding the oil/energy industry that they could kill GUSH?
In other words, what percentage of your portfolio would you entrust to a long GUSH position. Because depending how far back you go into GUSH's history, a return to prior levels could see anywhere from a 50x - 2000x ROI.
Interesting, I don't know where real estate is going (but I suspect it's bad). Not sure what a lot of reits are going to do, or what the ultimate policy on rent is gonna be >_< I'm thinking oil might actually start to be the play here, staying away from leverage for thyme being
Never hold bear 3x ETFs long term But you can hold bull ETFs for long periods IF you have a plan to quickly get out because, also they only work long term for low volatility indexes that generally trend up aka the SPX
Alexander Cook
they're flat in AH right now
Lincoln Adams
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY INFECTED ON MY SMG >GET OUT OF MY THREAD BAT EATING CHINKS!!!!!!!
I think the sharp drop period is gone. This has gone on too long to be a bulltrap. Maybe we get a slow burn down for a while but I think the virus is proving to not be nearly as bad as western countries thought, or our preventative measures are actually working
Zachary Smith
Any idea how RDS is positioned relative to XOM? I'm going to pick up some oil-related divvy stock during the price war, but I haven't had the change to do any comparisons
Eli Davis
WM is getting beat the fuck up, same with XEL and ED. I got limit buys on WM at $85/$80 but I’m keeping my eye on utility stocks.
I know there’s things in OP and books, but how do you realistically know how a stock will do? I recently started investing about up a couple hundred just because they were pitifully low and in the past year we’re average about 300% more, so I figured that they’d go up. The same with what I invested in today.
Josiah Morris
Sounds smart! Probably reckless and greedy doing leverage, I switched to only 2X and that’s why TWM and DOG (-1X). Then broke that rule with DRV!
We all knew the bounce wouldn’t hold, I think El-Erian was totally right about it being rebalancing.
Lucas Ramirez
Economics is the only "science" which has not advanced at all since the dawn of recorded history. Funny money based on hopes, dreams and the assurances of government has never worked. Imagine if you were to unearth an urn full of Babylonian government bonds, as opposed to an urn full of gold, and I think you will understand what I'm getting at.
Joshua Foster

i feel like that card will be a collectible. I bought MAGA hats too.
Jeremiah Ross
0% Crucially, the concept of a "return to historical levels" isn't a thing with leveraged or inverse ETFs. It doesn't exist, there is no "historical levels" or "normal" to return to. You have to be able to understand that.
I lied i wish i had the balls to do that. Im sorry fren. Aaaaaaaaa why cant i go all in! One correct price move, just 25% and i can pull out my initial and ride the rest risk free.
>The Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday asked companies to stop selling all forms of the heartburn drug Zantac, after concluding that a potential cancer-causing contaminant can build up in the drug when stored for long periods.
>The agency also recommended that consumers who use over-the-counter forms of the drug, also known as ranitidine, stop taking it and that they should dispose of any tablets or liquid that they have. People who take prescription forms of the drug should speak with their doctors about other options before stopping treatment.
>Most manufacturers withdrew their products from the market several months ago, after an outside pharmacy raised the alarm about the drug last year. Large pharmacy chains, including Walgreens, Rite Aid and CVS, had also removed all of the products from their shelves. uh oh
Lmao i wish that id only lost about 2 dollars rather than a lot
Connor Ramirez
It should have been, since they lie all the time.

This virus better be worse than they are letting on. I mean a 1% death toll, brings the world to a grinding halt and near collapse? Really? How does that make sense?
Cooper Jones
I followed you in brah, I think your hunch is correct.
>We found that SARS-CoV-2 replicates poorly in dogs, pigs, chickens, and ducks, but efficiently in ferrets and cats. We found that the virus transmits in cats via respiratory droplets. Our study provides important insights into the animal reservoirs of SARS-CoV-2 and animal management for COVID-19 control. OH NO CATBROS AND FERRETBROS WE GOT TOO COCKY
I can shill you pennyshits that will actually go up
Isaac Rogers
Men die from COVID more than women.

Reminder there's no vaccine for the 4 old coronaviruses already circulating in humans.
Why do people think we will get a vacccine for the new one? It's not going to fade until the vast majority of people are infected, delaying the spread is only prolonging the social and economic harm.
Healthy young people should be having coronavirus parties to purposely spread the virus to increase herd immunity and protect the most vulnerable.
Mason Cooper
The fed just announced easing of leverage ratio. We are green tomorrow you retarded bears.
