You're making the right decision about Orthodoxy OP. I was a "traditional" Roman Catholic (by traditional they mean from 1870-1958) for 22 years and I became Orthodox through ROCOR last year. Orthodoxy is the true Catholic Church. It is everything traditional Catholics are looking for in the Church. Traditional RCs are so conflicted and they dont even realize all the contradictions and absurdities of their position and they are not aware of how the RCC bends history to support the papal myths (recall Pope St Gregory the Great denouncing a man who would call himself "universal bishop" as an antichrist). As for the pharisee accusations I have found none of that though there may be some anywhere, in fact I have found people in Orthodoxy to be much more humble, charitable, and realistic, while still being hardcore on dogma they also emphasize mercy which many traditional RCs lack.
