I guess it's a numbers game - a small percentage of dead boomer voters are maybe considered less harmful than a bigger percentage of unemployed former Trump voters. In the end, once people lost their livelihood due to the measures and still don't know a single person who died of the virus, they will start to doubt the measures. That's also why Trump keeps blaming China - once people's lives get miserable, they want to blame someone for it, and they can't blame a virus, they want to hold someone responsible, somebody they can hurt.

The only boomers who die are the ones who don't matter. Beyond freeing up tons of senior homes of their populations and alleviating their weight on the economy, the only boomers who need to die are the politicians and economists we are leaning on to this day. The entirety of the senate, congress, house of reps, and most especially the president need to be exposed to this, and replaced with people who treat politics as something more than a money grab where debates and negotiations are a fucking clown show.
