>MY INVESTMENT IS NOT PAYING OFF
>TAXPAYERS REFUND ME!!!
what "cost" are they whining about. people booked a room at their shitty apartment. pandemic happened. now the booking is canceled. the host is out zero money. piss off
Meanwhile, eBay had expanded and extended seller protection.
I guess it makes sense. Nobody will actually be getting their vacations, whereas they'll still be getting their stuff (just late).
High reward = higher risk. So it goes.
They went in the hole buying the building in the first place, then cry when it doesn't print money for them. Turns out landlording isn't as easy as people believe.
it was as easy so far. but there was always the high risk of the bubble popping that everyone above an iq of 120 saw and now it's happening.
I don't get it, what "cost" are the hosts being stuck with? They're missing out on making money because of cancellations but they don't have any costs sunk into any specific booking do they? Are they really acting like they're so specially hard done by because their business isn't making money when the country is practically shut down?
I just hope you're right. If they manage to kike the market again I will probably kill myself. I just cant do ten more years of ZIRP in ZOGmerica
I should specify "their business" which was built on the foundation of someone else's business, just like a YT channel or something...
airbnb prices are crashing. there are millions of empty airbnbs everywhere, while hosts are, slowly, starting to bid each other under. rent follows, then prices, as those who actually need the money now start, then the panic ensues.
Real estate speculators BTFO
Kek fpbp, literally fuck these retards and fuck every retard that thinks they can make a risky decision and not own that risk when it backfires. They're the ones who no doubt gloat and think they're smarter than everyone else for making money with the airbnb bubble while others weren't. Now its popped and they can't accept their gamble didn't pay off.
Airbnb board of directors are literally the based department after this. Absolutely god tier move.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>Airbnb board of directors are literally the based department after this. Absolutely god tier move.
imagine praising turbofaggots because a closer tier of faggots get burned
crab in a bucket mentality is truly the scourge of lower class
My aunt and uncle were making a killing doing this and I was king of jelly, but I also resented them because fucking EVERY goddam boomer real estate speculator was out there driving up prices trying to get rich when all I wanted to do was just buy a nice home and make an honest living doing something productive. I can get a goddam loan and buy a house and rent it out too, but it seems grimy, like this shouldn't be happening but the banks and government and easy money flying around are letting it happen.
Anyway, the boomer aunt and uncle were complaining on the family group chat about all their AirBnB cancellations and the group of students that are renting a house are out early for the semester and moving out early and stiffing them on their April rent and all that lost money means they have to dig into their savings and they're hoping things turn around.
They want to pay the mortgage on schedule vs jump through any hoops to get the payment deferred. If it's mortgaged as a commercial investment property, they may not even be eligible for deferment.
>crab in a bucket mentality is truly the scourge of lower class
Look fag, it's tough times all around. Open borders pretty much guarantees that we'll observe the emergence of a global average standard of living far below the one we currently enjoy, and any deluded faggot that thinks they're gonna get to become a rich landlord and avoid getting dragged down into the puddle of shit like the rest of us has another thing coming.
Every airnb host I ever stayed with was a raging greedy piece of shit. Fuck that shitty service... Am banned for life for calling them out.
>Airbnb board of directors are literally the based department after this. Absolutely god tier move.
If the management at airbnb is anything like etsy (They are) then it's likely the 40k letters to Congress are being facilitated directly through the airbnb seller app.
I know etsy had the same press a button to send a letter to Congress demanding a bail out. I x'd it out.
fucked these leverage mother fuckers. you property fags deserve it.
>admitting that you're the crabbiest crab
A flood of dumber people coming into your country is an opportunity for you if you have any sense at all retard
any job where you are speculative middleman are parasites
My dad does AirBnB but he does it responsibly, with properties he owns, not maxing out debt. And he has a normal tech job with the govt
Holy fucking longnose. Letting shitskins flood in isn't an "opportunity", it's a plague
Lmao sucks to suck you fucking pricks, sure would be nice to be able to buy a house to live in without competing against speculators
But hey if were bailing out the cruise industry, why not them too
Anyone hope that congress offers them relief just because you hate NEET 4channers and are contrarian? In fact, the more you guys post angry comments about landlords, the more I want to see them screw you.
I honestly hope landlords raise rent on every poster here. Especially the /leftypol/ tourists.
>I can get a goddam loan and buy a house and rent it out too, but it seems grimy,
And a lot of AirBnb host did that.
I heard of people that mortage their payed homes to buy second and 3rd homes to rent out. Having overhead costs up in the 2k€.
They dun goofed.
I told them several times the year of the Rat was coming... should have listened.
Tbhf Airbnb is nice for traveling around Europe as a poorfag student. It's also comfier if you're a couple.
That said, I have a job now and can afford regular hotels so fuck them.
I vote for closed borders nigger, but I don't willingly tie my hands investment wise just because the future may not be so rosy. You're poor of mind which is why you will always remain so.
>A flood of dumber people coming into your country is an opportunity for you if you have any sense at all retard
It was an opportunity for the boomers at first, but the flood of dumb people aren't bringing land, infrastructure, housing, resources or jobs with them. All these things have to be provided for them when they get here. If the dumb, poor people move here faster than the American Dream can be provided for them then they just end up being poor here and bringing all the issues associated with poverty with them. No, you stupid fag, importing millions of poor people every year isn't a unique opportunity, a boost for the economy or an overall good you stupid faggot kike. It's setting the stage for a goddam revolution and will eventually tear the country apart.
Airbnb host here AMA
how do you determine your price?
>I have a job now and can afford regular hotels so fuck them
hotels are much greedier than airbnb
tbe inly goo dthing is that hotels dont fuck over housin prices since they build in scale
yeah ok kike. enjoy trying to sell widgets and bobbles to third worlders
Idk I just set a random price I thinks fair
See: I don't understand what you're even trying to tell me. It's still an opportunity with the right mindset. Is it beneficial for the whole of the United States? No, I never said that. But the rich in mudholes like Brazil got there by utilizing the hordes of dumb consoomers to their advantage. Crying about it and sitting in your shit filled diaper isn't going to do anything for your own future, the world is a dynamic place and that's how you should operate as well. You guys are pathetic.
>WAAAAAHHHHHH MY COUNTRY ISN'T GOING TO REMAIN THE MOST PROSPEROUS COUNTRY IN HUMAN HISTORY FOREVER
how far ahead is ur place normally rented out
No, it's property. There will be a "renter" class and "owner" class just like there always is, everywhere, and that wealth gets progressively more entrenched with time. You can either complain about it and daydream about your great Marxist revolution or get on board and put your foot in the door. Europe's situation is even worse than America's due to their age and history, the owner class and their children are permanently set.
>cost
What cost? They're renting rooms in their homes. Please dont tell me we had idiots overleveraging themselves and taking out mortgages or subletting rental units on the hope that they could AirBnB it forever.
We may need laws to prevent idiots from trying to start "small businesses". A "you need to own your shit" law or "just give the bank partial ownership up front instead of paying interest", so we don't end up having to bail these fucks out every ten years.
What happens when an artificial super intelligence completely takes over the planet? (If you deny this will happen you have a low IQ)
Yeah but I feel filthy and a cuck going to an Airbnb. Hotel has a feeling of statuts and privacy. Same reason I never took a single Uber but preferred taxis. It just feels more natural and the relationship provider/customer is much more healthier.
Actually no, except in Paris and arguably downtown Lyon, at least in France. Everybody and their mother can buy a new apartament in every big city in France since every mayor is building new neigborhoods + gentrification of old decrepit downtown areas. Same goes in Italy, Albania, Spain and Bulgaria (I've only lived un those countries so far).
None of the anti landlord sentiment is organic Yas Forums we've been raised hard and relentlessly since 10 year treasuries dropped to zero by communist leftypol denizens.
I suppose now should be the time they take to the streets to block highways, and such, but there's a cough going around or something, so the revolution is contained to a Mongolian cartoon enthusiasts forum.
I'm a fucking programmer, I expect this to happen at some point, but I'm not putting all my chips on it happening in my lifetime. The fuck is wrong with you doomers. What if you're wrong and Jimmy Numbnuts is sipping cocktails on the beach in his 50's while you're still a wagie?
The only one you got right was Italy
statista.com
And that's since their economy is nil. Not that I'm mad, I'd love to move there someday.
Only acceptable form of landlording is having student residences in universitary cities. Everything else is parasitic and taking avantage of wageslaves and poorfags that can't afford buying because their bank doesn't give them credit because they had no inheritance because their parents were poor. It's playing on thé same team as bankers which is never moral, but if you don't care about morality whatever. I just can't do it and deal with humans being in all kinds of fucked up situations and squeezing a rent out of them. It feels wrong.
Serves them right for gentrifying and being assholes in general. That said, how many Nervos to buy a house in 2022?
The AirBnB "not risky mortgage at all" bubble is about to pop. All those boomers that had decent credit and got leveraged to the hilt trying to find a way to retire comfortably are about initiate the collapse.
I don't know it's just anecdotal evidence. People in Bulgaria and Albania usually work abroad a few years before buying something home, which renders the stat moot. And french statistics are fucked by Paris which has the stupidest most overrated real estate in Europe, only second to London maybe.
>Gentrifying is bad
somehow a worse take than "all landlording bad" has entered the thread
The landlords are objectively in the right here
>b-but muh feelings on this disagree!
I meant I only had anecdotal evidence.
I hope they all declare bankruptcy and lose their property. Maybe than home prices will become a little more affordable.
So who's the more useless "middleman" here, the app ran by a room full of greedy Silicon Valley tech bros scraping fees off the top of everything, or the individual homeowners taking care of the properties and fulfilling boarder requests? Actually curious. Hypothetically one could exist without the other.
They're both equally useless and greedy, just at different levels.
Several people (illegally) sublease apartments they rent en masse just to increase their delicious Airbnb cashflow. They are now stuck with upwards of 40k+ in rents that will surely go unpaid. The landlords will have it easy since the apartments are basically empty but oh boy those hosts are gonna get their ears sweating from too many phone calls.
Of course, there's also the stupid airbnb landlords that will suddenly default and beg for moratorium over their mortgage. The whole thing is a mess and it's all their fault for pretending that playing dollhouse was "entrepreneurship" and that rent is "income".
>overleveraging like a retard
>objectively right
No.
If you own your property and rent it out to build savings, that's one thing. If you take out mortgages, or sublet twenty different apartment units and have $40K due in rent or mortgage payments next week, that's on you for being an idiot.
It's no different from opening a margin account and getting BTFO. You don't deserve a bailiout when the margin calls come in. You deserve debtors prison for gambling with other people's money and acting like a leech. Either be a worker or be an owner, but don't be a dumbass stuck in the middle trying to suck blood from both sides.
So you'd rather be forced to deal with hotels and pay ~50% more per night?
Rentseekers BTFO
You guys really have your bayonets facing the wrong way.
Yes, the bankers and hedge fund globalist are shitbags. 90% of landlords are are just working stiffs making lemonade from the lemons handed to them by big money overlords.
You want to attack the root of your troubles? Go after the big guy who finances your entire blacblock movement, and the rest of his friends. They're the ones rigging the system.
Listen, I love you, because you're a fellow human, but you need to get your head screwed on straight. The government actors, teachers, media, and actual big money globalist that puppeteer your entire movement are the real problem.
I'm gonna Mic drop here, because life is too short. Love you bro.
These idiots get what they deserve. Sometimes I get a short term rental for work (1-4 weeks). It was better when I had to use the classified ads or craigslist. Having a simple app and then marketing it, opened it up to the stupid people that never would have thought of this or been able to figure it out before. Now all those stupid people are gonna find out what happens when the money stops. Kek
Redpilled but also blackpilled
Modern progressivism is a bad joke.
AirBnB should pay for these cancellations.
Not the home owners and not the renters.
The company should take responsibility.
After all they're just scraping fees so they have plenty of money.
