Turns out price gouging is illegal in many places.
What could be more based than prosecuting them?

Poor wagies thought they would profit from this virus by being assholes lmao
>Supply and demand is price gouging
OH SAY CAN YOU SEE
It's only price gouging when the goyim do it
>can't raise prices
>everything that is in high demand becomes out of stock instead
Genius.
In a regulated market not all ways of manipulating the supply or demand side are acceptable, what can I tell you man, sorry.
I don't mind price gouging as long as it's not done at the expense of desperate people in a national emergency. Imagine Uber or Lyft engaged in surge pricing when car-less people are trying to evacuate from cities.
Filthy goyim can't be allowed to make a profit
>them
how new are you?
But bezos has stuff, sold by amazon itself, fluctuating in price throughout the day. Hows it legal for him.
This is where "limit x per household" policies should come into play. The whole point of limiting price gouging is so that people who are economically less-advantaged can still purchase critical goods, but that goes out the window if one chucklefuck buys out a whole store to scalp for a quick buck.
Plan ahead faggot.
There's nothing wrong with that. If there's enough demand to justify surge pricing, it means their services are jammed to the limit and can't allow any more customers anyway. Surge pricing is a way to ration limited resources so the people who value the service most will get access to it. It's completely natural supply/demand.
price gouging has been going on ever since china started manufacturing our goods. that's how people became super rich.
so everyone needs to act like a preper and keep an entire grocery store worth of inventory on hand for a once in a 300 year event?
they're getting exactly what they deserve
>the people who value the service most will get access to it.
no, only the ones that can afford it most and are lucky enough to act before it's gone
>It's completely natural supply/demand.
it's completely artificial
I love that idiots like you hand out financial advice here.
Shalom fellow entrepreneur
>Surge pricing is a way to ration limited resources so the people who value the service most will get access to it.
This only works if buying power is equal among all market participants, though, which it isn't. Ever.
I honestly think Amazon is based for price gouging retards who weren't prepared months ago and didn't see this coming.
Cry about it, commies.
Learn basic supply and demand.
>no, only the ones that can afford it most and are lucky enough to act before it's gone
Get a better brain. These are two completed different and counteract each other. Why are you doing here if you're too stupid to even understand economics?
Those of us who weren't brainlets had supplies months ago. We were far far ahead of the curve. I bought a year's supply worth of pasta, rice and some masks in January.
The only people that panicked last minute were "normies"
Nothing to do with luck.
exactly. the point of prices is that they reflect supply and demand. I'd rather pay $20 for toilet paper than pay $4 and not be able to buy any. Fucking enforce limits if you don't allow price to reflect demand.
learn US laws regarding monopolies, gouging, scalping, profiteering, and other stuff that will make your neighbors shoot you
have you ever read a single book on economics?
They should go after people who are selling the Nintendo Switch for 600 dollars.
>I'd rather pay $20 for toilet paper than pay $4 and not be able to buy any.
meanwhile nobody in the US was actually out of toilet paper except grocery and box stores.
should we protect morons like you that respond to artificial supply bottlenecks? Apparently the US thinks we should.
are you a lolbertarian living in an unregulated free market corona dream?
If you don't prep, you don't deserve to survive
The hackable ones are very rare, what did you expect
>NOOO YOU CAN'T JUST CHARGE HIGHER PRICES FOR SOMETHING THAT'S SCARCE, IT'S NOT FAIR!!!
You think you have some novel ideas about this situation, but this scenario has played out hundreds of times and has been written about by many economists. You act as though you're an expert when you really know little.
Attempts to stop price gouging have always done more to make a situation worse. This has been shown over and over and over and over
Praise the benevolent bezos
That's a good point, the demand is mainly increasing because people are worried about increased demand
>This has been shown over and over and over and over
passive voice, no citation
this is how we spot the 12 year old 'expert'
>prices is that they reflect supply and deman
It doesn't retard, prices are subjective, they don't reflect jackshit. Value was, is, and will be subjective forever and ever, not a single price on earth has correlation with reality, that's what subjetive means
Man communists are exhausting in their stupidity coupled with this self-confidence in a topic they haven't the slightest clue about..
Learn about opportunity cost and the subjectivity of value.
But you don't understand, user. That's because they did it wrong. True socialism has never been tried. If you put me in charge, I'd do it right!
Do you even know what you're talking about? Are you just spouting random words to look smarter? Can you even understand if you're arguing for or against that poster's point?
What are people like you doing here?
>Man communists are exhausting in their stupidity
I'm a capitalist, you absolute moron
we have laws to prevent unethical behavior in business because this isn't Mad Max. Please die in a fire. You're making this board much stupider just by breathing.
Read this book
why?
I've made millions of dollars, you've barely stopped wetting the bed.
>millions
Sorry user, we're all billionaires here. You should go to bed and let the adults talk.
IPX Token of #TACHYON will be use for Incentive & coordination mechanism
No it's in fact the unprepaired faggots who didn't see this coming who are getting exactly what they deserve.
>NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST HAVE A FREE MARKET IT'S IMMORAL
>AMAZON SHOULD RULE THE WORLD WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH
it's possible they're both getting what they deserve.
price gougers are going to prison and unprepared people are getting their supplies at a fair price.
it's fucking magic!
id rather NEETs be making a buck from their autism than leftist globalists like amazon
How does imprisoning price gougers let people get supplies at a fair price? Every time it's been tried it just leads to everything being sold out and nobody getting anything.
>advertise your stock of essential goods to Amazon
Bezos will gladly direct the feds where to loot you for tax break.
>Every time it's been tried it just leads to everything being sold out and nobody getting anything.
you're really pretty stupid, you know that?
there's no lack of supply. The apparent lack of supply is caused by price gougers buying up the supply. Once you get rid of them supply goes back to normal.
in real life there is no shortage of the supplies that were being gouged on Amazon. So there's no problem getting them.
#Tachyon Network is a network consisting of thousands of decentralized provider nodes
If there's no shortage of supply, why are "price gougers" only popping up now? If hoarding and reselling are so profitable, why isn't it done normally? Surely something must have changed in the last little while.
>unprepared people are getting their supplies at a fair price
That's not fair. Prepared people getting supplies at a fair price and unprepared people getting fucked, that's fair. We're not building communism here mr faggot
Time to hoard rain water.
Yes, stop being a nigger and use money from kikeflix etc to buy things each month. Becky can go without her $8 starfucks everyday.
>If hoarding and reselling are so profitable, why isn't it done normally? Surely something must have changed in the last little while.
exactly the right question even if you meant it sarcastically.
price gouging is popping up because there's inefficiency in moving supplies. In a normal market the 'gougers' aren't gouging at all, they're just engaged in arbitrage. Business.
but in a market of necessity it becomes illegal.
and the main reason it doesn't happen is because price gougers are small time crooks, not businesspeople. Businesses are thinking of the long run and either not raising prices or even giving necessary goods away at a loss. Because they know you can't keep a business running if everyone hates you. Everyone hates gougers, so they're criminals, not businesspeople.
capitalism isn't about what's fair. Suck it up.
>comes to Yas Forums
>only has millions
I'm pretty small time but I'll easily blow that kid out of the water.
>but in a market of necessity it becomes illegal.
b-but muh free market!
even the most hardcore of libertarians understand the free market has to have some level of restraint.
Soo when can we finally trust bust Amazon?
>even the most hardcore of libertarians understand the free market has to have some level of restraint.
that's all I'm saying.
I'm a capitalist. A business owner. By some odd chance I happen to sell toilet paper and hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes and tyvex coveralls and dust masks and such. The same things that were being gouged on Amazon.
I could take my entire inventory and unload it at a 500% markup but I won't. In fact I favor sending people that do that to prison. Because it might make a small fast profit but it hurts customers and hurts business in the long run. We need regulations. A few anyways.
when they raise prices.
