Having an Airbnb is literally a money printer though. I just bought a house in a rural touristic area where you can easily get 100 a night for a nice place, and local rents for the same place would be something like 600-700 a month. So book your property for less than a week every month and you're already making more money than traditional landlords, with the potential for 3-4x profit.

That’s why you have long term lease agreements with families and you act as a good landlord.
Just cover your mortgage with their rent and have your tenants pay for their own utilities. You cover property tax and don’t be greedy.
It’s not as lucrative as some of the other predatory practices but it is good for times like these (which is the reason to save and prepare for the future in the first place)
In my mind, the reason to have material wealth is so you can be safe during times of crises because history has proven you cannot rely on the state for support.

Landlords are only a problem in cramped cities like Paris, Barcelona, London. A landlord in the countryside where an aging population means many homes are simply uninhabited is just benign. The worst they can do is make an AirBnB and disrupt the idyllic seclusion of the community with tourists coming through every other day, however in many parts of Europe the economy is literally geared to provide for this and every town above 3000 people has a tourist office, so the natives at this point are probably inured to it.
