Doubt Lindsay Graham allows this to happen

interesting, if true, then they are probably doing to stabilizing the USD (reduce deflation).

Wasn't this originally Obamas idea?

>demonetize the stolen coins
>mint other ones
Problem solved. This is just a loophole for something that wasn't meant to be.

now this is interesting. when was the last time the mint did something like this for the Fed?

I think Obama tried
Fed said no

I guess Tromb don't care about Fed as much these days

>Jamal and Sanchez, each with their 15 kids, will receive $32k in gibs and $16k per month for at least an entire year

ABSOLUTELY FUCKING BASED

what would the cost be of issuing all those cards?
I'd expect 50% of them to just disappear in the mail.

Does the US Mint have $2 trillion in Platinum sitting around?
Quick googling shows that this is probably nonsense fuckery
>And we know that about 2.2 million ounces of platinum are in existence above ground (as of 2017).
>At today's dollar price (a little above $860 per ounce, as of November 11, 2018), that comes to about $1.9 billion.
Unless the entire platinum supply in known world is actually just 0.1% of the available platinum, and the US mint is sitting on the other 99.9%, this is basically just them printing two coins and declaring they are worth a trillion dollars each. It's literally the most retarded version of money printing you can think of.

And it's met with overwhelming support!

LET THEM IN, AND GIVE THEM $1000 CHECKS!

It doesn't matter what the market value is it matters what the mint says the value is. If they say they are worth $2 trillion they are.

This is what they always do with PMs.

The denomination is never as good as the spot price

can they just revalue it so that their stacks are now worth trillions?

We should just print a few quintillion dollars and make every american a millionaire.

Yeah, why not? Who are we to tell them it isn't possible.

They don't. I recall looking up large currency and these large coins aren't legal tender for regular purchases, but more as of a way to balance the books.

Many years ago, large bills ($100,000+) were sent to US treasuries as a way of them showing the have that money. Now it's pretty much digital.

is this real or is it clown world?

Rome tried it with the denarus, didn't work out. Eventually reality wins.
The mint can't really 'declare' a revaluation. Sure they could say 'we are willing to buy platinum at twenty thousand dollars an ounce' or something, but then where are they going to get the money to buy it? The US Mint is self funded and only does about a billion dollars a year in revenue. Theoretically if the govt cooperated I guess the Fed could just turn on the brrr printer, but that's a pretty guaranteed way to immediately collapse USD.
Man once people like Tlaib or AOC start getting into serious positions of power where they have control over the money supply, they are going to tank the dollar so hard and so quickly they'll have to invent new terms because 'hyper' won't be a good enough prefix for 'inflation'.

They better be fuck huge.

Yeah just like when the print paper dollars. Not sure what the point of doing coins this time is. Maybe they think people believe minting fake coins is less bad than printing fake paper money?

>Platinum coins to be minted with face value of one trillion $USD
>each one weighs 10 ounces
uh,... guys

how is this different from making the money machine go brrrrr

Coin printer go clink

I'll actually side with them on this one only because I feel the same way about apple products yet here we are.
Sent from my iphone.

>coinpress goes fump

It's just the Federal Reserve creating a couple trillion then sliding it over to the Treasury. I wouldn't sweat it, but it's neat to watch.

both

Why not mint 5 coins worth 10 gorillion and then we're all rich. Checkmate capitalists.

She's about as smart as she looks

Lol, Platinum price not even going up after this mega news.

She looks as intelligent as the crap I wash off of my shoes after talking a walk in the forest when it has rained the day before.

you retard. it's to ease the budget. the treasury mints 2 coins and say they are worth 1 trillion. the fed prints 2 trillion USD and buys it from the treasury. now the treasury has 2 trillion USD surplus without having had to print money (as they can't print directly, only this roundabout way)

But why stop at 2 trillion, why not do a quadrillion and give every american $100k?

>the most interesting line in this whole thing
guess who just btfo?

it'll be enough to give every american citizen $6,112.46

Boy you'd be surprised if you knew how fiat money works

Why not print no money at all and recall all american dollars so that there are 0 dollars and we no longer have to worry about inflation.

So roughly $10,000 for all tax payers, or about 8 months with the current plan of giving everyone $2k + $1k each month

I saw it floated around 2008 timeframe. So yeah

>give to american citizen

haha you make me chuckle

>They matter just as much as anyone

you can tell how much they hate whites because otherwise it would've said "every taxpayer"

yeah....just totally fuked ((((them)))) over

(sshhh....biz still doesn't catch on yet)

What, printing your own money? Only hitler would do such a vile thing. You have to ask goldsteinberg for a loan goy, this isn't right.

Congress has the authority to mint coins not print money

(((seething))) already

>NONONONONO THATS OUR JOB GOYS

>not being in debt for generations
watch how the media is suddenly going to rip this plan apart when it dawns on them

FUCKING SCAM. Nobody is ever going to pay taxes again.

Kek the whole economy is just some ponzi game lmao
