when you have skin in the game weekends take way too long

Once Cruise liners set sail again how long until it bounces back from this dip? NCLH at around 9 bucks a share seems like a steal, but I assume it will go lower since they arent going to be sailing again for potentially months if not longer
It's gonna be half a year before they start up again, probably over a year before they start to really pick up business to their old amount. I'm also wondering if this, along with my generation's (millenials) love to not spend as much on shit will lead to these industries never really getting back to their highest highs after the boomers die off

That's one of the reasons that you close all your short positions on Friday and just reopen Monday. It's not worth the stress if you don't have nerves of steel.
It depends on how expensive it is for a cruise ship to do nothing. Protip: it's very expensive for a cruise ship to do nothing. If you're going long, sure go ahead and buy but I'd do a fuckton of research or diversify to avoid risk of bankruptcy and dissolution.
Listen, I love you guys and you’ve been very helpful to me. I am finally considering dipping my toes into options, what would be a good put to buy if I think the market will go down next week? Yes I’m retarded but I’m learning.
Cruise lines have all the operating costs of airlines (if not more so) but none of the clout to get GIBS.
Jace Russell
>but none of the clout to get GIBS. I thought Trump said Cruise lines would get a bailout for their trouble or were those gibs cancelled?
Alexander Lee
>maybe it works, maybe it doesn't >maybe it kills you, maybe it doesn't
Fauci already BTFO'd him yesterday at the conference

cope. the virus is already dead.

I wouldn't put too much faith in medical research and rushed trials like this. I'm betting the effects are low, the p-values are cherry picked, and none of them realize that correlation is not even correlation. Remember that the vast majority of people who get this disease get better on their own anyway, so the drug we need is one that takes someone already in the hospital with life threatening breathing problems and within 24-48 hours gets them breathing well enough to get OUT of the hospital and go back home.
I expect Taleb will start tearing their articles' math apart as soon as it starts getting posted online. Be BEARISH on news about cures or treatments.
You know what it's like to look at a really poorly managed company and think >Wow, how do they manage to fuck up every time, I will never invest in these clowns executives that can manage a fine, profitable company into the dirt, that kind of thing.
That's the kind of mis-management I see from the US government this year. It feels appallingly bad. They went with the worst possible combination of pretending things were fine and not shutting anything down until the virus was already spreading out of control, and THEN they chose to basically hit the "Economy Self-Destruct Button" by choice. It won't change the actual number of people who get the virus in any significant way, all it will do is cause more poverty and unemployment and bailouts, which means people dying more from all kinds of conditions because they can't afford healthcare. It's a mess and it's entirely because of poor response. If we were going to ride the nothingburger train, we should have stayed on the nothingburger train to the end, not jump onto the happening train mid-way.
His divvy is fat. His yield is over 7.30%. His share price is under 29 a share. Don't delay! Let Him save you while the getting is good. Telecom, Media,Film, and more all such a steal now. Before things went to hell He was pushing almost 40 a share all while still pushing a fat divvy and yield of over 5.2%. Yes DIS is cheap and I've bought more but let us be real, the yield is low, even now it's just barely past 2%. Not knocking DIS at all, I like them both as a mater of fact. So bag them both and sit back and wait. When your 65 you'll be setup quite nice.
I feel like FYV is a better option than both of those

>Listen, I love you guys and you’ve been very helpful to me. Well that's very kind of y- >I am finally considering dipping my toes into options Stop. You missed the boat. We're going to crab the next week to month until the drops start again. Last week's options strategy isn't going to work anymore. The safest move is to just DCA in to blue chip stocks, especially the oil industry which is guaranteed to bounce back eventually but will see massive losses in the meantime. Don't throw away your money like a sucker.
>buying telecoms Explain. Customers have zero loyalty and switch between whichever carrier is cheapest. Don't dodge the question with Warner. Media is less than 10% of T's revenue.
Tyler Nguyen
If Monday is red I'm buying 10k worth of stocks and index funds and just holding for a year. Wish me luck guys.

you can't think rationally about stuff like this you have to realize that all countries are fighting an invisible enemy, and the typical fat fuck nobody from inner city U.S.A. thinks to himself "Hm, it's almost the end of the month and I need to pay my motherfucking bill cause I have 3k in savings tops. I got 1.8k a month loans I have to pay and now I think this corona-whatever isn't that big of a deal compared to my financing situation, herd immunity all the way!"
we're all fucked and over the course of time people will be forced to expose themselves to the outbreak surge cap soon, fellow doctors
Inflation was at 0.1%, and all assets plummeted after fed rate decrease. It's a liquidity problem you fucking moron.

The average politician or deep state bureaucrat is just as stupid, or more stupid, than your average C-suite or corporate board member. Nobody ever went bankrupt overestimating stupidity.
This is precisely why reducing the power and scope of the federal government is important. Stupidity is as stupidity does, but when it's decentralized the impact to the system as a whole is lessened, and even stupid people can copy what smart people are doing in the next state over when it's shown to work.
>liquidity No, stocks were overvalued and that popped, oil prices dropped precipitously and put the entire industry on bankruptcy watch, and investors finally realized we're going to see NEGATIVE 25% growth this quarter so they priced that in. Don't use words you don't understand.
>Why did X pump? Dead cat bounce, always a dead cat bounce. We still haven't hit the bottom yet. Crypto was a better bet last week than the stock market.

I've been trying to explain that to people IRL for years, but they all seem to prefer the winner-takes-all, 8-year pendulum style of centralization that we have now. One guy I know takes it further and wants a one-world government... Makes me not so bullish about the future. Like I said earlier, I get the EXACT same vibes from the way this coronavirus thing went and when I'm looking at a really poorly managed company. It's like they are chaining mistakes together perfectly to try and fuck everything up on purpose, when really we just need to stop doing dumb things and get back to work

I'll just read headlines later. Why bother watching when the market's closed? I can think of better things to do like play Doom Eternal.
Charles Powell
Bonds were ALSO overvalued and companies are going bankrupt. Shit man, where did you learn about how markets work? Youtube?
Charles Wright
I mean.. sure.. you can read biased headlines later or you can actually what happens.. but I know what you mean.. most things I don't really care about but something in these press conferences could hint to possible plays for next week.

What do stockmen (and stockwomen) do on the weekends?
Jace Russell
Nah, this stimulus is for normalfags to pay their rent and small businesses not to go bankrupt because they were closed for two months. The $2T LAST week was for us to buy stocks.
Business idea, all door handles and medical equipment, where practical, should be made out of copper.
It literally kills bacteria and viruses in minutes and requires no maintenance, there's been studies where people working with copper didn't catch diseases/viruses during outbreaks.
mcdonalds looked packed as fuck, and country club full as hell. more people than during summer days
>he average politician or deep state bureaucrat is just as stupid, or more stupid most are experts of giving speeches and being outgoing but majority lack fully any kind of capabilities of forming a single independent thought
interesting to see how this mess might send capital from the west to asia, china is already back at work, they dont give a shit and quickly realized not to destroy their prorudction over a seasonal flu.
It's too valuable as scrap metal and it'll be stripped by niggers.
I think global supply chains will simplify and try to avoid China as much as possible. Plus western countries are going to be super careful about importing anything from China that could have wuflu on it and restart infections once we lift our gayass pseudo quarantines.
