I watched The Exorcist for the first time. I found it to be a very compelling movie about a mother’s constant fight to save her daughter’s soul and the crisis of faith. While the horror elements have become such a huge part of pop culture and a major part of the genre since, some of it was lacking the punch it must have had at the time, such as Regan’s possessed appearance. I think it is a very good movie held together by powerful performances by Ellen Burstyn and Linda Blair and the message of faith against all odds is still very resonant as is the very fear of evil itself.

At least you're not a prick and putting it down. Pazuzu should still creep you out
What's your take on Exorcist 2: The Heretic?
Not op but exorcist 2 is pure fuck-you-I-like-it core for me.
>the angiography scene
no thanks

1. I bet anything you're a zoomer. 2. You're everything that's wrong with horror today. You're the reason the only answer we get to generic jumpscare shit is ultra boring A24 shit. le drama human aspects were teh real story le horror should just be barely there le humans real monsters.
Kill yourself. The Exorcist works because it's creepy as fuck that an evil spirit could take full control of a human being and make them do awful things. Who knows what that little girl was going through when she was "inside".
That was the most unsettling scene in the movie for me lol.
I was taking the piss but holy shit what do you like about that abomination?
>disregard 2 & 3 for years because heard nothing but bad things
>recently started hearing about how 3 might be secret kino
Mark Kermode has a raging hard on for the first film and he seems to like 3, is it worth it anons?
3 is fucking great and always has been. It's based on a much better novel than Exorcist and George C. Scott and Brad Douriff are amazing.
Just try to watch Director's Cut.
After 3 watch The last exorcism. Underrated as hell
>one of the nurses in that scene was an irl serial killer
fuck ever going to a doctor man
wait wat
yeah, he inspired Friedkin to make Cruising
>French Connection
>Exorcist
>Sorcerer
Which is the best Friedkino lads? I'm erring towards Sorcerer for now but it can change in an hour
William Friedkin is a true OG and a badass
The Exorcist movie is the gift that keeps on giving.
Change it up and watch his last two. Bug and killer Joe, both kino and the first time you'll ever find McConaughey scary
Exorcist 3 is surprisingly good. Brad Dourif is excellent in it.
Its been ages since I watched it, and I'm not saying its a good movie, but I kind of liked the whole science angle that they introduce going against the surreal dream stuff, and that institute is just so weird and visually interesting.
Also Reagans big juicy titty meat.
My favorite of the exorcist movies is definitely legion and I wish there was a version where brad dourif and george c scott just shouted at eachother for 90 minutes.
Killer Joe also has very explicit sex scenes with Juno Temple.
I saw Killer Joe years ago, I should absolutely rewatch that.
I've never seen Bug but I'll definitely give it a go, thanks for the recc user
Sorcerer for the soundtrack alone.
Also that push in to an extreme closeup of roy scheider at the end is one of my favorite shots ever put on film.
Insane film and I'll never forget the ending. He should have gotten an Oscar
I love the way he speaks.
She's hot
Calm down, user.
It’s a fantastic movie, though I feel it does drag in places. When it gets good, however, it gets really good.
I just wish it hadn’t inspired a shit-ton of cheap, crappy exorcism and demon movies that infest horror these days.
dimi...
DO YOU KNOW WHAT SHE DID?
Billy is actually evil, isn't he
>tfw never knew what she was asking about
>only recently realised it's Burke who's like yo your cunting daughter threw me out the window
>that's why her head is on 180
I'm such a retard
I want to posses a little girl.
