Why do normies shit on Game of Thrones now and praise the Witcher? I tried to watch the Witcher recently and it was shit, I go on youtube and see endless praise for it. In every single comments section I see some retard say, "lol game of thrones so shit, this master piece that is so deep". I never even watched game of thrones past the 4th season but that was all normies could talk about for the past few years.

praising the Witcher, much like praise for the Mandalorian, is mostly >cope. They're grading them on a massive curve that considers that all these great IPs (including Game of Thrones) have melted down in the 2010's

A lot of normies are fake, so don't judge media on quality, but public opinion. They didn't see GoT got shit in Season 5 because all it got was praise. Even Season 7, which is objectively the worst season, was liked by most. By some miracle after S08E03, everyone finally woke up to how shit the show had become, purely because of a disappointing plot outcome and suddenly it was cool for the majority to hate on the show. Basically now, we're 12 months into a hate circlejerk over the last season.
The Witcher was the "trending" show of December and thus got a lot of praise from normies. A lot of Netflix shows fit this same hype cycle pattern too, like Stranger Things or Big Mouth.
Believe me, in 5 years there will be a wave of nostalgia and people will like Game of Thrones again.

People will pretend to like the book if fat fuck ever releases it but nah this iteration of the show is dead forever.

This. When season 8 was coming out a guy I know talked to me about it and I told him that I personally thought that the show went downhill after season 4. He looked at me like I just spat in his face. Cut to a few weeks later after episode 3 of the season came out and he was telling me about how shit GoT became later on and how every season after 5 (for some reason he still considered that one to be good) was complete shit.

But, look at all the fun they're having. It's not that they're "fake" so much as normies just want to have good experiences. They're rooting FOR the show, not against it. Part of having a lower IQ is that they're not as cynical. It's also why normies get laid and user doesn't. They're generally get-along types who want to be part of something that's good and fun and they will push back against "haters" who want to mope around like Eeyore raining on everyone's parade with their negativity. At least, that's their perspective. I would say user is more realistic and more accurate, but it comes at cost. As Tyrion would say, user is crushed under the weight of all this truth. Normies aren't fountains of positivity you dumbass. They hate things just as much as you and me, just look at the dogpile on GoT after season 8. The difference is that they only hate what they're told to hate and like what they're told to like. They can't fully enjoy anything because they don't actually care about what they're watching, they'll never notice a good performance or subtle details in a scene or good cinematography. At least not on their own without someone else telling them it's good. They literally can't enjoy media like someone that pays attention can. Everything is just white noise to them. I don't envy normies, I pity them.
