The Fountain is my go-to reference when user wants a movie that has a much better score than the film itself. The film is watchable, but sadly it was severely held-back by the budget being cut. The concept deserved better. It was also originally supposed to star Brad Pitt. Huge Actman isnt' bad, but overall you can really tell they scaled-back what they hoped this movie would be.

Also, it's a good movie if you're high as fuck.

I dont mean to suggest Huge was a bad choice. Just suggesting it was originally supposed to be a much bigger, high-profile film. There was an entire future sequence of whats-his-face traveling in a spaceship that was cut and in the end all we got were the bubble sequences. When they decided this wasn't going to be a vehicle for an a-list actor, they sold the film short.
