If movie studios can take Death of Gwen Stacey and put in so much effort only to ruin it twice (did Raimi do Death of Gwen, I don't remember, didn't he copy the scene and replace Gwen with MJ, shrug?) Then they can take shlock like Ultimatum and make it work. The Bullet points of the story are really good and the entire point of 1610(happy autist?) was to shake the kinks out of Hollywood Marvel ideas before Hollywood got a hold of it. Hippy Thor is due. Horny Grey Hulk is due. Evil as fuck realistic General's Daughter Betty Ross is due. And if Magneto's going to enter the Cinematic Universe he may as well do it with a splash. A giant floating Asteroid M, a bunch of Acolytes and a plan to preserve all the art and culture of the world before turning the poles and flooding the world would kill two birds with one stone.

Why bother? The whole point of Ultimatum was to wipe the slate clean and get rid of a lot of the characters so they could be replaced with new ones. Endgame already achieved that. The only original Avenger who survived who still has his own movies is Thor, and he's passing the torch in the next one. So who would they kill off? Spider-Man? Black Panther? Doctor Strange? Cool except they already killed those characters off once with Infinity War. Ultimately, there's just no point to this.
