When did Akinator go to shit? I remember playing it years ago and having it eerily guess obscure characters with relative speed and ease.
Now it seems tainted by zoomers using it to guess their favorite attention whore YouTubers. It also has no sense of how to give anywhere near the optimal sequence of questions. I get asked multiple times in different ways if my character is a youtuber, if they're real, if they are associated with some faggot vidya gaem stream, etc.

Either actual idiots or someone maliciously ruined it Like I answer a question and then it asks a question that categorically should not be true e.g. is your character real? >yes is your character an alien? >....no

There was an algorithm change in 2018, I think. That's when it stopped being able to guess obscure characters.

Yes, didn't old Akinator keep track of the questions it asked so that there was logical consistency? For instance, if I answer "No" to 'Is your character a YouTuber?' it shouldn't ask me something like "Was your character in the Logan Paul Pewdiepie iJustine orgy?"

Old Akinator would have been able to guess famous characters in maybe ~10 questions, and obscure characters in less than ~25. Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but I remember it guessing characters like Seymour Glass from J.D. Salinger's short stories (not super obscure, but kinda) in a very short amount of time.
