One of the biggest pleb filters of all time.
to be fair it's the best of the prequels
to be fair it's the second best of the prequels
arguably only relative to the context it existed in
It’s amazing. Once you understand that George Lucas wanted to show the Star Wars universe as it was during peacetime then it becomes clear how genius it is
to be fair it's the worst of the prequels
but that still makes it like an 8/10
It sucked the sweat off a dead man's balls.
This
If you take jar jar out, trimmed the pod race, cast a better actor for anakin it would have been amazing.
it mediocrity that makes them so awful.
It has pacing issues and some of the acting is wooden and terrible. But the story is solid and it doesn't make you want to pull your hair out at how retarded it is.
This is true. It's the only one I can actually tolerate.
RotS is so insanely overrated that it boggles my mind.
It's a fun, wholesome childrens movie. It's not Lucas' fault a bunch of manchildren spergs expected it to be the second cooming.
>trim the best part
anakins actor was fine and did what he was supposed to do. the problem is no one likes child actors and every fag on the internet bases what a "good child actor" is off of home alone and thats not fair in any way considering the complete difference in roles that are to be played.
jar jar played his part of the fool well and was the catalyst that bound all the story threads together. lucas wasnt kidding when he said jar jar is the key. hes the only one with links to the jedi, the gungans, the naboo, and later with anakin as anakin can talk to him freely. there may be credence to jar jar being a sith agent as he does do some sketchy shit and he could have been the "phantom" menace but who knows.
podracing is kino and was lucas at his best. lucas shines when you give him 15 minutes of lights and sound. hes the master of what looks cool and what sounds cool, and i think this is because he never grew up mentally (i think he has slight tism) and still has the ability to imagine and think of something that would be wondrous.
padme was hot, ewan and liam were great. maul was a perfect fucking villain who did exactly what he was meant to do and died and never should have been brought back.
8/10
they shouldve had anakin start as hayden christiansen and had the same actor through the three films. The little kid was the killer. What was even the point of schmee other than her getting raped by sand people?
he didnt mention the gungan battle?
OOM-9 was such a chad. Whatever they did to the battle droids in 2 and 3 was a fucking mistake.
The prequels are more entertaining than the OT imo.
No it really wasn't. It was bad sure given its convoluted plot and over-reliance on CGI (that's now really dated), but people would soon come to realize that it was in fact the best that Lucas would offer with the prequel films. Attack of the Clones and especially Revenge of the Sith were so bad and so much worse that it's easy to see why people would consider it the best of the three. Of course I'm ignoring the opinions of all the sad zoomers, who've been blinded by nostalgia, whose first taste of Star Wars began with Revenge of the Sith. There's no point in listening to a dumb fucking zoomer who thinks a lackluster 40 minute CGI cluster fuck battle with lightsabers is anything worth talking about.

go watch the 'are you an angel' scene and tell me he was a good actor.
jarjar could have been done better, hes a comedy thing but, I mean its not that offensive or anything its just kiddie humour. Spergs burning his effigy online for views made me sick. The actor almost killed himself over it apparently, since he was also bullied at school etc.
The podracing seemed decent but it drags on a little imo, more action needed, less 'look at how great anakin is fixing things'
child actors are just shit all around. i dunno what people expected from a tiny little boy having to ask some sexy ass bitch if shes an angel
revenge of the sith was the moment the outside world started bleeding into the story, lucas was clearly thinking 'oh no, the fans hated everything, ill just do whatever they want', so it got all dark and edgy, and included things you know, ie, emperors throne room, emperor, tantive 4, luke and leia, bale organa so on so on.
To be fair, its the second best out of the first films of each trilogy
im a star wars turbosperg who started way before the prequels were released and objectively speaking ROTS is the best star wars film
it was even worse
Kill yourself. Now.
i think he was probably the best of a bad bunch but they shouldve recognized early on that the whole part was sketchy at best, and probably needed rewriting/reworking. Lines like that were almost 'play'-like
yeah, because everyone who likes it is a pleb
kys yourself zoomyboy
I liked it. I was 19 in ‘99 and saw it 5 times in theaters. Most of the hate was Gen-X’ers wanting Boba Fett clones fighting Jedi in R-Rated battle scenes.
Why are you so mad over his opinion?
>Was it really that bad?
The majority of people no longer hold that opinion. Look around the internet and see for yourself.
The world building and score are incredible. KOTOR and most of the video games are directly riffing off it
KOTOR was supposed to be prequel era through most of its early development
It was really goofy and boring. It had some neat ideas though. I still don't think midichlorians are that bad. If only there were some way for the film to have taken place like 50 or 100 years before the OT. The Jedi being a legendary concept would've made more sense.
No. Best prequel by a mile. Pure Y2Kino.
