Because the character is definied by his strict code which includes not killing criminals, and having him killing criminals kinda goes against that.
Because comic fags are retarded manchildren. They think Batman having a no kill rule makes a good character when in reality it just makes him a shitty superhero. This is one thing marvel does better, iron man and Cap have no problem killing people who deserve it
Muh books. Most people don't actually care. If you play the Arkham games, it feels like he's busting skulls open left and right.
Because they're damn nerds.
It never made sense in movies because you don't need to keep them around since Batman will get reboot after a few films. In the cartoon, Joker has to stay around for 100 episodes.
T. only watched the nolan trilogy.
That's not exactly done better. In fact it's even worse, most of their actions hold no weight. I get it's supposed to be more campy and comical but that's itself is a matter of tone.
As for autists saying he has no kill rule, fuck off.
He destroyed an assassin headquarter and likely killed off a good chapter of the league of shadows in Batman Begins.
The Dark Knight, he kills the fucker driving the garbage truck right here. youtu.be
TDKR Again during a chase sequence at the end he kills both Taliah and the driver. youtu.be
People complaining about Batman killing people in BvS are also doing it for the wrong reasons.
We don't see him kill till he's told Alfred about the White Portuguese and Alfred said that he's going to go to war.
That means the stakes are on, this is everything on the line and people will die.
There's the set of retards who also complain about him sending people to a death sentence by branding criminals.
They likely deserved it, but that brand establishes something else, an automatic guilty sentence in the eyes of the people of Gotham, but to the criminals in Blackgate prison and Arkham Asylum that might mean you just made a whole set of friends you may not have wanted in the first place.
Of course Lex has done his research and knows that this branding can be used against him, and most if not all the branding deaths were caused by a 3rd party.
There is also when he goes directly to Lexcorp after the bombing to steal the rock.
The guys being rolled out aren't bagged up dead, so he's not killing in anger, and he was angry at that time, so he's not murdering senselessly as to he is killing when necessary.
Doesn't even make sense.. Why would any criminal be scared of batman is they knew he definitely wouldn't kill them?
because he is not the punisher, would you like spiderman going off killing criminals??
Batman might not kill you, but he will put you in a wheelchair for the rest of your life sentence
Even a perfect no-kill batman could never make sure all combat is non-lethal. For example, in the BvS warehouse fight scene, when one of the goons pulls a pin on a grenade, what is Batman supposed to do? Letting him throw it jeopardizes him and the explosion would likely kill the goons around him too. If he disables the goon holding the grenade, that goon will drop it and die in the explosion. There's no way to not kill someone here. And punching people into unconsciousness still has a high likelihood of creating fatal wounds, all it takes is someone falling the wrong way on a piece of concrete to break a neck or bruise the brain.
>Because the character is definied by his strict code which includes not killing criminals
I wouldnt say this strict code actually DEFINES the character of Batman... like over 90% of all superheroes share the same code, its nothing that makes Batman stand out.
millennial nerds are obsessed with turning the world into a curated museum to the media of their childhood. Batman in the 90's childrens' cartoons never killed anyone, any other interpretation is unwelcome.
>would you like spiderman going off killing criminals??
Well, I DO love the Raimi trilogy.
Batman actually has more of a reason than "Killing is bad." though
All fight scenes look the same now. That finishing move at the end I've seen in about a dozen films since this one. Even had it in 2 episodes of Mandalorian. Probably the same stunt team.
Mentioned where?
Is there a Batman movie where he doesnt kill? The 4 flicks from the 90s , the Nolan and Snyder movies. All of them he kills henchmen in self defense.
The Batman's moral code is completely integral to his character, without it he is stripped off of any depth and tension from his character and becomes just a rich guy who wears a spandex suit at night.
The whole point of the Batman - Joker relationship is that the Joker constantly pushing Batman on the edge of his morals, trying to make him kill someone/break his code.
But if Batman is suddenly killing everyone left and right there is no point to them, Batman could literally find out where Joker is and call the fucking artilery on the whole place. And there is no need for dialogue between them ever, as soon as Batman sees The Joker he should just shoot him/bomb him/run him over whatever.
The morals are a crucial part of "Batman", he's not just a rich guy who wants to murder every criminal in the world while wearing an edgy bat costume.
If there are no morals to be saved then why even be Batman? Why even wear a fucking bat costume every night?
Why does he fist fight with those criminals in the movie, why doesn't he just fucking shoot them all at sight? Buy like a hundred of weaponized drones and kill any criminal on the street? Buy some edgy most highly advanced artillery with pin point accuracy and blast anyone that bothers him or the citizens of Gotham?
Joker becomes just a yet another criminal who he needs to kill, nothing more.
fpbp
Why not just give them corona-virus?
People would appreciate it more probably if they turn Wonder Woman into a murderous Amazon that wants to play judge and executioner. Batman would basically be setting a better example for the Justice League which is just a gathering of gods that could turn on humanity at any time.
marvel is actually based in that their characters actually kill people without giving a shit
>Everyone says that about [Christopher Nolan’s] Batman Begins. ”Batman’s dark.” I’m like, okay, ”No, Batman’s cool.” He gets to go to a Tibetan monastery and be trained by ninjas. Okay? I want to do that. But he doesn’t, like, get raped in prison. That could happen in my movie. If you want to talk about dark, that’s how that would go.
Because muh comics
Can some kino connoisseur explain to me why is there this weird bluegreen filter on this movie
snyder likes to do filters
i think he think it adds to the sort of mythical nature of the story
because it's a modern digital cg capeshit flick
He was only defined that way because of the whole comic book censorship debacle that happened. Batman used to kill people, no problem.
I think the real question is, why do people get mad when they go back to Batman's roots?
Unless you are a recurring villain. Then you just spend like a week in Arkham Asylum and it's back out to the streets!
>Yeah yeah comic book Superman is cool and all that, but what if he killed Trump? What if he started transitioning into a twink femboy tranny? These are the hard hitting questions I am interested in.
They just heal well.
because you're a fucking casual
>Nooooooo, you can't kill the bad guys attacking you
But why. Sure, he shouldn't kill people for petty crimes, but why would it be an issue in a life-or-death situation.
connoisseur here, filters help cgi effects or assets blend into the shot, can obscure less realistic elements of the production as well as action choreography, and also it looks cool.
Literally the only reason Batman doesn’t kill joker is because hack comic writers don’t want to keep creating new villains. How do comic fags not get bored of Batman letting the joker live over and over again
Making Batman a killer is like making The Punisher a pacifist.
See Sure, I see why the rule would be there from a storytelling perspective, but it just doesn't feel like it makes sense.
I see. Thanks for the actual response.
>he's not just a rich guy who wants to murder every criminal in the world while wearing an edgy bat costume.
Alright, then who is he. Still a rich guy who's an over-the-top edgy vigilante. That kind of character simply isn't well-suited for the current era.
