If you were okay with this one, do you really get to complain about any of the subsequent ones? How are they different?
The original "blackwash"
Good enough acting.
Ultimates son.
Stop giving crybaby Yas Forumsfaggots attention, much less heed any of their bitching.
Wasn't Ultimate Nick Fury black to begin with?
im okay with blackwashing, it creates positive media portrayals I can watch with my daughter and her half-brother
How come this is ok, but whitewashing isn't?
This
It was an upgrade
stfu niggerlover
Yes, for the express reason that Bendis thought Samuel L. Jackson should play him.
it's "my wife's son". get it right
It had no effect on the movie. Samuel is a good actor and played the role fine. Yeah it was probably done for diversity sake, but it wasn't a social justice circlejerk
Hasselhoff still looks better for the role, if he could only act.
Seriously?
Theyre literally different characters, the White Nick Fury is a different guy with different characteristics. Although I do wish they went with him instead.
No, Samuel Jackson played Nick Fury like Samuel Jackson not like Nick Fury.
He played himself.
That's not how Nick Fury ever was in the comics.
>positive media portrayals
Children should not look up to fictional characters, which is what this idea is predicated on. Parents need to step up and explain escapism is just that.
>Seriously?
Yes, Marvel wanted to make a MCU way back in the late 90s, but the funding/planning took a while to actually work out. Bendis did Ultimate FF in like 2001 I think and modeled Fury after Jackson because again, he thought he would be cool in a superhero movie. Pretty good decision, Silver Age Fury is lame.
>Children should not look up to fictional characters,
uh yeah they should, are you sure you don't mean adults?
>how my niggas gon be doctahs an lawyuhs and sheeit if they ain’t be having the representation
monkey see monkey do
cause he's ultimate nick fury who was a SLJ parody, it's definitely blackwashing by a jew, it just happened before the mcu
he was black in one of the newer comics. also sammy is a great actor and not some literally-who diversity hire who can't act for shit
Well, never read any Ultimate comics but Nick Fury as a guest character in other comics was great back in the 70s and 80s and in the 60s with the Howling Commandos he was freaking awesome.
I don't know anything about Marvel before the MCU, so it's not like I knew until you just told me. Batman on the other hand, I know and I'm not really wanting a bunch of darkies in those movies.
Fiction has been used to portray role models since basically forever.
Nobody cared about that because only autistic people even knew who Nick Fury was before the MCU.
The real Nick Fury.
Because whitewashing reduces entire cultures into costume set for white people to use and entertain themselves with.
Up until recently, white men had been hogging literally all the spotlight, and it's only now that women and people of color get to be a major part of it, that people start to care about "accuracy".
Seriously, does pic related not seem jarring to you?
>original
user—I...
This is some fine bait.
>it's another Yas Forums shows up to talk about kids books episode
Grow up
>hey stop telling me i’m wrong
if you don’t want to be proven objectively wrong then don’t come to this thread trying to spout your bullshit
