Rich man takes her away to get her away from poor family. Keeps her confined and is definitely wrong but still no overarching conspiracy as in the first two season.
The church rescues her, conceals her, and fakes her death allowing her to get married and live a happy life.
The only conspiracy in this show is "actually the church SAVES children"
The show just does a thematic 180 on what their investigating. The first season ends with the sense that the rabbit hole only goes deeper and gets more protective of itself. The second season ends with the good guys dead or on the run for digging too deep. The third season solves the case entirely with mostly everyone getting a happy ending.

They also throw away all of the malice and creepy imagery surrounding the boys death. Instead of it being a murder it turns out the kid just slipped lol. The creepy dolls turn out to be literally nothing.
The entire message of the third season ends up being:
Just because it looks like a spooky conspiracy doesn't mean it is a spooky conspiracy.
In fact, it probably is a good conspiracy

It's okay but doesn't hold up against the other seasons. I was pumped when Ali was announced for the lead, hes a good fit for the tone of the show. Dorf was a weird pick but turned out great. The show was just boring despite all the actors involved doing a great job.
