Because the internet usage of the people in this film is a symptom of larger issues, not the cause of those issues. It's always bothered me that these internet "basement dwellers" are just dismissed as losers, when in reality they've got massive anxiety disorders or autism. It was honestly really boring. I think the ultimate short falling of the film is that she's not a good interviewer and it really shows.
I think if she only included the lifting guy and the gunspergs it would have been massively better, but she still wasn't as good at getting info out of them or really getting their perspectives and reasoning as well as she could have been. Framing them as maybe the two sides of "incels" or Yas Forums loneliness would have been a better doc.
Kantbot had nothing to do with anybody else in the film and Yas Forums and incels in general. I think the cowboy dude could have been interesting but she didn't do a good job of making him such. And Wojak was just a mascot for the film and not really a topic.
Overall, amateurish, boring, like 4/10
