Fuck off with your aidskike shit.

Villenueve has already saved cinèma with his kinography. Dunc will be his magnum opus. All the plebs and pseuds will look upon his works and despair.

i can't say one way or another until i get to see it, looks interesting and as a sci-fi lover i eat this kind of shit up anyway so all we can do is wait

Every movie villanueve makes is kino so i have some hopes for it. Only problem is the themes expored in Dune are really outdated for sci fi now. Dune explores a society where drug culture is run amok and the lifeblood of civilization being held in a remote, desert planet filled with hostile forces and primitive people. Topical for the rising drug culture of the 1960s and the dependence on foreign/arabic oil but perhaps a bit dated for today.

Nah this movie is gonna be pozzed bullshit. The costumes are shit, and it’s an unfilmable novel

dishonesty never thrives

I really am excited about Dune but man the costume designs are soooooooo fucking bad

>it looks really good
Why are you blatantly lying?

If you have ever complained about movies relying on special effects over quality writing, then you don't get to complain over irrelevant costume design choice that doesn't affect the story.

>All the plebs and pseuds will look upon his works and despair.

Barely anyone will look upon his works. The theaters will not fill and it will flop.

>Nah this movie is gonna be pozzed bullshit. The costumes are shit

All sci-fi films live or die depending on how great their special suits look. This one is fucked.

How will these absolute Chads be portrayed in the film?

It's a visual medium. Both of them need to be on point.

This

I love dune, both books and the movie, so I welcome this and will watch it. But I wish they had gone with a more colorful and esoteric design language (don't know how else to put it). They went the generic sci fi route and I get it, mass appeal and everything, but Dune is a setting where you can use designs more like what Moebis would make. More color, more strangeness, more ridiculous hats. I want more ridiculous hats and uniforms!

A prudent theater owner would right now be securing the screening rights for the 1984 adaptation of Dune. Once this dishonest remake comes out, people will be chattering about how good Lynch's version is by comparison. Offer it on the big screen to tap in to that market.

desu, I'm surprised theaters don't do this already. Every time a reboot, remake, or 20 year sequel comes out, just screen the original instead.
>Star Wars
>Jurassic Park
>Jumanji
>Ghost Busters
>Mad Max
>Terminator
>etc
>etc

Who até these guys? lol

>I want more ridiculous hats and uniforms!

what to guess how I know you're an erudite man of refined tastes?.

>irrelevant costume design
Not irrelevant when you see it so much. It's hard to unsee once you noticed and for me, it breaks immersion. For you, it maybe doesn't and that's good for you. But for me, it's really jarring and would have been so easy to do better.

agents of the Spacing Guild from the Sci-fi miniseries version of Dune.

Guys in western style business suits.

I'm actually a retarded autist, but thank you user. That felt good.

>make a suit that absorbs every little drop of water
>smells like shit

i thought this was supposed to be high tech?

Go consoom somewhere else, tasteless faggot.

looks dishonest

>I feel terrible
>my mouth tastes like ass and dirt
>I think it was all that thigh pad poo poo water from my suit
>I should not have drank that water
>I should have listened to Paul

Friendly reminder that everyone here loved BR2049 until contrarians and shitposters took over.

I still absolutely love it. Yas Forums isn't one person

she cute

I don't like this direction of costume design, I appreciate at least that they included cloaks that match the color of the surroundings, but the suits themselves are overcomplicated with layer upon layer of cloth strips and randomly placed pads to the point where they look overworked, but then you just get straight up bike pads in the arms and motorcycle gloves, I don't get what they were going for. The 1984 suits were so far as I know custom made, and included few pre-existing real life clothing elements, it made them seem more believably not from our world.

In addition, the very short shot of Leto and company in full plate body armor really threw me for a loop, it looked bland and uninspired, like something you'd see on an extra in a big battle scene in some capeshit movie, and it somewhat contradicts the source material as the Atreides never to my recollection wore body armor. Most everybody in Dune usually wears a shield belt if they want personal protection. On top of that the armor is flat grey and unmarked, it's boring, I would have expected that at the very least it would be match the Atreides coat of arms, or at least be something like OD green if they really wanted that futuristic tacticool aesthetic.

This doesn't directly mean the movie will be bad, but lazy/poor costuming is a concerning indicator of the team's mentality about the rest of the movie. Film is a visual medium and if you're sloppy/lazy/bad with your visuals it's not an encouraging sign for the rest of the production.
