Is he really a great actor or does he just get roles because he’s attractive as fuck?

Yes.
that's right
He's good. George Clooney and Dicaprio fit your latter assertion though
both
He's good and should have one an oscar at least once in the '90s. He's one of the rare ones who manages to be talented, incredibly good looking AND make genuinely memorable films.
His ex Angelina OTOH only hit the first 2 criteria.
he cannot act well but like all handsome men he has a welcome presence
Both. It certainly helps that he has top tier genetics and is fit as fuck, but he's also one of the greatest actors of our time.
he's a pretty mediocre actor
yeah but in every movie he's in, he's the most memorable character if you really think about it - so what exactly is a good actor if not that ?
I would say someone who can slip into the role of their character and become engrossed by it to the point where the actor becomes invisible. Something Brad and Leo can't seem to do
Both
He’s like Dicaprio except he can act
I always liked him but he was really fucking bad in Ad Astra or whatever it was called.
He’s a shit actor who always plays “charismatic” people because that’s all he can, if it’s a role against that type he’s utterly unconvincing.
Its the film that was bad
He's a brilliant comic actor. Burn After Reading might be his best ever role
Only unknown actors can pull that off.
Which of these films he should have won an Oscar for?
>Across the Tracks
>Thelma & Louise
>Johnny Suede
>Contact
>Cool World
>A River Runs Through It
>Kalifornia
>True Romance
>The Favor
>Interview with the Vampire
>Legends of the Fall
>Seven
>12 Monkeys
>Sleepers
>Seven Years in Tibet
>Meet Joe Black
>Fight Club
>Being John Malkovich
how the fug does he have all his hair? even leo receded
you have ten seconds to give me one (1) example of brad pitt being a good actor in any film. i'll wait.
Kalifornia.
>Brad Pitt is relentlessly handsome
He's a great and versatile actor. You don't get to have his career both as a leading man and supporting actor if you're just a pretty face.
is there any movie where he actually acts? he mostly seem to act as brad pitt and he gets choosen for roles that fit brad pitt
snatch
He is a above average actor, i think his main problem is that he became too big too fast. Like he's all talent, with no actual acting teaching. And being handsome makes people more sympathetic to you, which also helps in acting.
Being John Malkovich, that .5 second cameo was superb
post scenes where he displays his "acting ability" (for that is what he calls it)
I used to think he was just a pretty boy until I watched 12 Monkeys.
Seven is peak pitt, both appearance and acting.
tfwywn best bros with chad pitt
12 Monkeys.
Name one of the greats like Deniro, Pacino, nickelson etc. who isn't just "acting" like himself?
>no jesse james
gtfo
He's a character actor in a leading man's body. I would say his attractiveness has probably worked against him as an actor for most of his career. Not saying he hasn't done well for himself, he has, simply saying his abilities probably haven't gotten the respect they deserve.
The faggot said that Pitt should have won at least 1 Oscar IN THE *1990s*
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford was released in 2007
It has to be from the 90's
Nah, he had his mannerisms even in seven. He's great at playing a character in the story. But he always brings his personality into the movie, regardless if the character requires it or not. I'd put him in the same bracket as Will Smith. Pitt had a wider arrange of looks ( body and hair) to chose from, so you might think he's got range, but it's not. Anybody can put on a wig and put on weight. That's just dressing up and not acting. He's a poor man's Gary Oldman as far as transforming for the role goes. At least Oldman does a different voice and accent everytime. He acknowledges it himself in interviews. Which makes him likeable, he's not humblebragging, he knows more about his acting ability and its limitations than his fans.
Does he give a fuck about the Oscar as much as Leo did?
12 monkeys, should've won over spacey
>brad pitt doing a funny voice means good acting
His mannerism in seven suited the character extremely well. Which is why its his peak. With that being said i agree that he always brings his personality with him to his characters, but i think he knows that and which is why he picks the characters he does.
He's good, at his best in weird roles which he never seems to be getting these days. But most importantly, he's just a Chad. He's extremely cool and charismatic.
