Nostalgia. It's the only part of most peoples' lives where they have fuck all responsibilities and a wide circle of friends.

It's symbolically the end of childhood and the beginning of adulthood. It's when you go from being in a classroom your whole life surrounded by the same faces since kindergarten, to those people suddenly and forever gone the next day, never to be seen again as your life suddenly goes into a different direction.

Who knows. I coasted through high school, was bored out of my mind. I guess if you're a chad football player fucking cheerleaders every day with no responsibilities then it's the best time of your life. I just showed up, slept through classes, and played games after. Unlikely. Texas State isn't exactly the Ivy League or Berkeley... or even UCLA, for that matter. All in all, you'll most likely end up at a good fourth rate college if you're going purely by athletic merit alone. Most actual nerds can do better than a fourth rate college. Obviously, if you're in the top 0.01% athletically, then that's a different story, but we're talking about the average, archetypal "Chad" here.

It used to be that not a lot of Americans would go to University so Highschool was that last carefree period in their lives. Since the 80s college has replaced highschool as serving that purpose.
