They've put out some excellent movies and on the whole they're one of the best production labels out there. It's dumb to hate a studio when there's so much variety in their output.
But their weaker films basically establish a late-2010s brand of indie mediocrity that deserves a little mockery. Muted color palettes, shallow-focus closeups of grim emotionless faces, dull lifeless performances, deliberately unsatisfying open-ended narratives, etc. Basically an update of the middlebrow Sundance trash that flooded the straight-to-video market in the late '90s and early '00s

Goddamn slow west was an absolute blast. Trailer kinda looked like a goofy low budget western black comedy, but it's actually one of the best western of the last 20 years.
And so damn beautifully shot. The ending was pure kino. All of it was pure kino, even though there are some minor imperfections. Instantly became one of my favorite movies.

They purposely delayed the U.S. release of Under The Silver Lake- almost a year after it had been on streamers. Then the film was released in ONE theatre and shut down. The director did It Follows and starred the dude from Spiderman. Not sure if this is related to the conspiracy stuff the film is about but it is super fishy.
