For me, it’s the Avatar and the Firelord

Book two is the best season of anything ever.

Based. Book 2 is the true patricians choice. Book 3 is good, but fuck was it fanservicey. Especially the finale. Not really any surprises for that whole season. Book 2 had the best episodes in the entire series

>zuko alone
>bitter work
>the chase
>the library
>the desert
>the drill
>tales of ba sing se
>the guru
>fucking crossroads of destiny

Just masterpiece after masterpiece

lol bender is slang for gay

I can't argue with this opinion, it's 100% correct & based

You spelled "The Ember Island Players" wrong

blessed thread?

I really liked the show as a kid, but appreciated it so much more on my first rewatch. Final Agni Kai is the most kino scene.

Ember Island Players is an perfect recap episode, but imo other episodes like Crossroads of Destiny etc surpass it due to their drama and how they move the story along. Ember Island Players is still up there with the best episodes though

Man I was so fucking sad as a kid when Aappa got taken away

>the drill
>a masterpice
u r
retarded.
retarded.
retarded.

I dont understand how they could show such a mastery of storytelling, of their own universe and characters, and even the confidence and skill to take liberties like pic related, just pure perfection and genius over and over again

and then go on to do that piece of shit Korra

Well for 1 they got a different music team

Even the greatest musical groups and bands ever put out duds sometimes dude, when there's as many people involved as in a TV Show the chances of it being so good aren't fantastic

The Legend of Korra had a pretty good soundtrack, it had pretty good everything except for character writing.

Jackson Rathbone is relentlessly handsome.

the mid-later half of season two is complete kino.

>and then go on to do that piece of shit Korra

it's because
>season 1 was meant to be a short mini series, then Nick forced them to make it a full season and they expanded the episode count by double and had to create more story in a short amount of time
>Nick greenlit season 2 before season 1 aired and they had to make up a plot for season 2 in a short time too which resulted in a convoluted plot
>season 3 was good because they had time to write the story
>Nick then wanted to get into the streaming market between season 3 and 4 and they didn't like that the show wasn't getting good viewership and slashed the budget for the season, and they also dumped the final 4 episodes on their website and didn't market it

it's a tragedy because it could have been a good sequel series
and the trailers actually made the seasons look good

but if thats true they still wrote a shit season 1

fuuuuUUUAAAARRKKKKKK gets me every time. What an emotional fight. The tiny details are so easy to miss in TLA, like Zuko's fire bending style changing after learning from the dragons, and Azula, who for the entire series uses only two fingers to precisely bend, begins to use open palm or fist bending after she's betrayed by Mai. The attention to detail in their visual storytelling is so good

you have to have seen very few television shows to think Avatar is that great of a story. It's on the same level as any Shounen anime.

Name a show with better characters than avatar.
>It's on the same level as any Shounen anime.
What shounen are you referring to? You're implying that shounen anime have tightly written plots and handle character development as perfect as avatar. There are seeds planted in almost every episode for each character that are never forgotten about, all building up to something different. There are dozens, a lot of times hundreds of unnecessary filler episodes in shounen anime. And most of the few filler episodes in avatar are actually some of the best episodes in the whole series.

t.only saw a few episodes

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
Death Note

Seen the entire thing.

>Brotherhood
maybe the second half

>FMA
Lol characters overall maybe, but flow and development? No.
>Death note
Le anime tropes and potato chip man, no thanks.

if they had trimmed the fat and just did a mini series with no season 2 in mind, season 1 would have been fine

Any benefit of the doubt i would have given them died with season 4. Season 3 made it look like they were actually going somewhere but instead it was generic muh friendship crap and korra was ultimately insignificant.

Agree except that Southern Raiders is the best episode.

Death note is literally a meme and FMA has just way too sloppy a story to compare with the perfect arcs of avatar.

>ending it with her fixing everything with energybending or whatever
everything feels rushed in the last few episodes multiple plot twists with no build up and little pay-off like they didn't have a coherent plot in mind or didn't know how to condece it

Death note was fun and not too retarded until L died.

Speaking hot truths, user.

Yea, it was. So is avatar. Whats your point?
