I've seen all of the movies but this one. I tried to watch this once and got to a scene early on where they treated the puzzle box like a pokeball/lamp with Pinhead in it. I just had to stop.

The lore is desensitized freaks think they're going to get the ultimate kick and aren't ready for what happens because in order to get it, you need to leave behind your humanity. That's how people become cenobites.
I'd like them to explore the concept of 'further regions of experience' beyond sexuality into sound, food, immersion, art, etc., but we all know it'll be an evil white man using evil cenobite demons against the culturally diverse main cast, there'll also be lots of sex and chains with hooks and epic fucking references to the first movie only.
