I loved what Victor Cook and Greg Weisman did on the Spider-Man show. Then Cook did Scooby-Doo and made an unwatchable soap opera, and Weisman did Young Justice and made an unwatchably convoluted tween drama. But together they cancelled all their bad elements out and didn't drop the ball once with Spidey.

This show was based beyond words. And the fact that they took inspiration from the raimi trilogy made it even better.

Hello Megan was genius because Mrs. Martian got it from a sitcom. She saw the sitcom "Hello Megan" and literally became the main character because that's how she thought Earth was. The entire series she had acted like a character from a sitcom because she wanted to be one. She wanted to fit in because on her home planet she is an outcast, that is why she spends the entire season with the fake Megan persona. She even gave Connor his name because that is the name of Megan's boyfriend in the show. It is legitimately genius writing.

And theres definitely action scenes straight up copied as well, the theme song has spidey swinging and landing on a subway train shot for shot like spiderman 2. And they also copied a fight sequence with sandman from spiderman 3 where he does a sweeping kick right through sandmans knees. Just small stuff like that
