where did all the threads go, you burning out?

I still got a lot left in the tank, but enough of this meta shit. Let's talk Snaps.

>Audience: Ginger Snaps is easily in my top five horror films of all time. I have two questions number one, were you involved in the two sequels?

>Karen Walton: No. I know my name comes up in the credits but for the characters. In Canada unlike the U.S when the screen writer writes a screenplay they retain the copyright of the original elements and we license those elements that make other films, so they had to get my permission to make the other films but they did not have the guarantee that I would write them. So they are using the characters from this film. Part of our interest in making these characters as a bunch of newcomers is if we got to make sequels and prequels we would give other new talent the chance to work. And that is what happened. The editor of the original film Brett Sullivan ended up being the director of Ginger Snaps 2. Two other emerging female screenwriters got a shot at writing a Ginger Snaps movie, as a result of using those characters. I could not do it at the time for two reasons. Firstly, I felt I had said all that I have to say on the subject. And secondly, at the time I put a lot of really cool projects on hold while we were shooting Ginger Snaps. While we were shooting Ginger we were shooting my first CBC movies in the “The City” TV series and immediately after that I went to Queer as Folk, which was a different kind of edge cutting for queer culture on television. I had these amazing opportunities that grew out of this movie and I did not want to spend the rest of my career or at least the next 10 years doing the same movie a bunch of different ways. I wanted to do these other cool things

Literally hasn't done anything relevant since.

I know creative types usually go on about how they dont want to be known for one thing, but dropping GS was an absolute mistake on Karen's part here. Fuck queers.

2 was really good though. Not at 1's level, but still. Spends a bit too much time at the hospital and they went under-budget too. Should have just splurged some more of it for another 10-15 minutes of early city scene kino with Beebster getting stalked by the werewolf.

yeah

Filming location of the Fitzgerald house, looks pretty comfy.

If the attack never happened do you think Brigitte would have nixed the pact on her own? I think she would have and Ginger would have cut ties with her once she realized she didn't have control and lost the brains of the duo

B would have had to find another way to satiate that craving to stab people.

people who paint Ginger as some manipulative egomaniac are brainlets. she's 16 and didn't want to ever lose her little sister

She did keep her on a tight leash, though. I don't remember the exact quote, but right before B cuts her hand open to wolf up she says something like "You took everything from me that wasn't about you, now I am you". That shines some light on their relationship growing up. Not to mention the worm eating quote. I love Ginge, but she was at times kind of a cunt to poor Beebster, but like you said, most of it due to insecurity, not malice.

I have a more pessimistic view of Ginger. She clearly felt superior to Brigitte and the relationship was one-way. Brigitte was a nonthreatening doormat sidekick and Ginger liked it like that. She's all talk and drops her ideals when put in a social situation. It's probably likely Ginger would have left Brigitte behind even without the werewolf curse.

I really like the last 15 years and last 15 minutes quote for this reason.

not classics, but pretty good. I prefer Dog Soldiers

>She's all talk and drops her ideals when put in a social situation
Yeah, I've known people exactly like that. One on one they're open and friendly, but once it's a social circle situation they instantly go against everything they pretend to stand for just to increase their social standing. Even spilling things you've mentioned in confidence if it benefits them in any way.

Thoughts on Bad Moon? God the Howling was so fucking boring I almost kys'd myself watching it

Attached: 1586033816422.png (1280x720, 852.9K)

have any of you guys seem orphan black? i don't really watch tv usually but i'm pretty interested since john fawcett is a co-creator and directs a lot of the episodes, though idk how much artistic influence he actually had on the series. also, karen walton wrote a couple episodes which is pretty cool.

Eh the whole genre is kind of shit besides London and Ginger Snaps

terrible post

I've heard of it, but never seen it. Apparently it's a bunch of cloned Tatianas running around fighting government conspiracies or whatever, doesn't really seem like my kind of thing.

I dunno, I'd recommend Bad Moon because it had a really good looking monster, even if the plot was by the numbers and nothing else was visually interesting.

Karen Walton herself has said pretty much everything that user did

She's pure and been damaged by mindless normies the same way we are. Maybe that's why her character evokes a lot of empathy.

I watched the trailer but didn't like the fact Tatiana's character steals someone's identity then fucks her boyfriend That alone just really rustles my jimmies.

>no argument or discussion
even shittier post

>Poisoning from the aconitum plant can occur if it is ingested or handled without gloves. In severe cases the poisoning causes vomiting, dizziness and diarrhoea followed by palpitations, paralysis of the heart and airways, and death.
Interesting detail that Brigitte gets dizzy and says she can't feel her hand right after picking up the monkshood at the house, never caught this before.

I want to impregnate Ginger so bad

I've watched it. I've said this a couple times before but it's a decent show, the only thing that really bothered me was it had trouble focusing on a single antagonist and sort of turned into a treadmill of 'shady corporation' antagonists that ended up looping in circles (like some early villain would turn out to be the 'REAL real villain').

She plays a dozen different characters.

Wasted years..

so it doesn't have any of the same appeal as gs? there's no evidence that the same guy is behind it?
