Saves the protagonist's life

>saves the protagonist's life
>has a calm conversation in which he explains why the future society exists and why the protagonist can't use time travel to save his wife
>gives the protagonist back his time machine
>the protagonist then ungratefully kills him
What were they thinking?

>You're a man haunted by those two most terrible words... "What. If?" You built your time machine because of Emma's death. If she had lived, it would never have existed, so how could you use your machine to go back and save her? You are the inescapable result of your tragedy, just as I am the inescapable result of you.

Fuck the Wraiths

>established the protagonist can't change the past
>he proceeds to change the past

Why did they do this?

funny that the future human society isn't that different from now, with the exception that the current lower classes have just enough intelligence to think themselves capable of governing themselves

why didnt he just bring the dead girl to the future with him

Just look at him. He's obviously evil and needed to die.

sad about white gf dying

gets sexy black cave girl with cool son as consolation prize

Is this film good enough to watch in full or are the scenes with Irons only worthwhile?

This. At face value he seemed to be reasonable, but the moment we saw his grotesque back it was obvious that he was to be righteously slain.

CONSOLATION... prize kek

He can't save his wife because her death is the reason he invented the time machine, it would cause a paradox. But with the exception of his wife he can change the past.
>Character proceeds to prove thesis incorrect.
He killed one hive of morlocks. There are many more, all lead by their own psychic masterminds and he has no way of recreating his time machine with the tech he has access to. Once the other morlocks realize what happened and come after him he's screwed.

morlocks

Someone answer this please. I'm 10min in and it's complete trite shite.

Jeremy Irons is a great actor, and would've made a great Mr. Freeze.

I was unironically annoyed by this too. Bastard could have even warned him about their nowhere-future. He'd probably try to seek a different evolutionary path at that point, since, y'know, proof.

My first thought as well.

Is this Atlantis? What the fuck I don't remember this

Scratch that, this film is fucking awesome!

i read all the replies in this topic. very pointless go nowhere replies that all come down to "i watched the movie to XD".

it was her brother

This movie was good. Why did everyone hate it?

Well, the acting is rather average (except for Irons)

This film is such an odd mixture of kino and schlock
