Its cringe and none of it reflects true Yas Forums culture. Even the creator came out and said she only visited Yas Forums in 2017 and based her entire view on the website by that one visit.
twitter normalfags - the movie
It's cringeworthy.
>Even the creator came out and said she only visited Yas Forums in 2017 and based her entire view on the website by that one visit.
Embarrassing.
it's ok I feel like they made them go outside for set pieces than most of their time spent inside their room for the docu to make them more interesting and quirky xd
hahah look at my anime figures! i'm so quirky and so Yas Forums xP
Kino
It represents modern(at least since the fappening) Yas Forums culture perfectly
>normalfags that post stuff from here on their social media accounts
Yeeeee we're bringing back the 90s
youtube.com
I refuse to watch or even associate myself with this meme shit as if it's something to be proud of
can someone give a non-biased take of this film?
I wish these documentary makers would interview me, I would actually be interesting. I'm holding out for Theroux though.
Incredibly dull and disappointing. Ultimately none of the Twitter shitposters interviewed had anything truly insightful to say about social alienation except for Kantbot on occasion.
This "Yas Forums documentary" has near to nothing to really do with Yas Forums at all. Nobody in the documentary is a genuine Yas Forums poster except for Eggy from Yas Forums... and all he got was a few minutes of Youtube clips included if anything. If anybody would have anything to say about alienated virgins on Yas Forums it seems that it would be him since he is well known in that corner of the internet.
It amazes me that nobody involved with the production of this documentary had even bothered to reach out to the Polish imageboard poster Wojak who had initially started the "tfw no gf"
I could go on and on about the flaws in this doc. Zero mentions about how the FBI had questioned Kantbot, Eggy, and School Shooter aka Negative XP all on numerous separate occasions? How did this information not get included at all? Should be noteworthy.
The documentary flirts with the real world dangers of lonely men who feel alienated from society in scenes. These scenes that have implications of incel violence come off as totally disingenuous and very mundanely surface level.
I won't even comment upon how much unnecessary filler this documentary feels like it has.
Hard pass. Absolute lackluster of a documentary.
Literally throwing a dart at some posters around Yas Forums she could have gotten more insight. She claims to have only been here since 2017 and to barely visit, so basically she made a documentary about something she didn't research very well, even if her intentions seem to be mostly good.
>. She claims to have only been here since 2017
I believe she got here in 2017, and I also believe she is one of those BPD whores that seek attention on Yas Forums and is probably on there a whole bunch.
Why the fuck was Kantbot included? The fat fuck provided nothing of insight beyond banal analysis of fucking meme characters.
I guess that's why some people might be upset. It's about current Yas Forums, not the one they remember. I'm an oldfag who discovered Yas Forums in his 20s back in its first year. I was taken aback by how young these newfags were. I can't imagine being 13 and growing up on Yas Forums. No wonder the boards are so shit these days. Though maybe it's rose colored glasses.
>She claims to have only been here since 2017
Don't forget that shes marketing this doc as being a review about the golden age of Yas Forums. Shes claiming the exact moment she logged into Yas Forums was the golden age for this site lmao
Honestly to make this documentary properly she didn't need any of that, she just needed a decent sample of robots and some time researching.
Yeah and really the original bots of r9k are mostly gone, they are here, on /n/, or they hung themselves.
somethingawful fren?
>Zero mentions about how the FBI had questioned Kantbot, Eggy, and School Shooter aka Negative XP all on numerous separate occasions? How did this information not get included at all? Should be noteworthy.
They did mention how they took away that one guy's guns after his "one ticket for Joker" post. I guess they thought it would re repetitive to go into the others. Honesty, I can see from a film making perspective why they wouldn't have those stories as well. Maybe they didn't have enough footage of those. Maybe they did it and it was cut for time or never came together.
I only know about editing through osmosis from seeing behind the scenes clips and from college friends making student films.
I'll tell you this one for free. A real incel neet Yas Forums user would never in a million years agree to take part in a documentary like this. I can guarantee, with only seeing one screenshot and this poster, that it's normalfag trash trying to profit from the "incel" clickbait articles. You're welcome to watch it and tell me otherwise, however I'm adamant it's normalfag larping, otherwise the entire doc would be a fat sneedposter creasing over his desk trying and failing to explain what's so funny about season 11 episode 5 and then cutting to the exact same thing but a baneposter having to explain why he's been posting the same line of dialogue for years.
>golden age of Yas Forums
Believe it or not this is something a lot of these newfags believe. Especially the ones that showed up around 2014
Theres been a trend of zoomers on this board claiming the golden age/wild west of the internet was 2010-2015 too
>The documentary flirts with the real world dangers of lonely men who feel alienated from society in scenes. These scenes that have implications of incel violence come off as totally disingenuous and very mundanely surface level.
I thought it did portray it as surface level. It seemed to show how superficially the mainstream media used the term incel and fear mongered with it. It seemed more fair and balanced than anything else I'd seen about anonymous and this whole incel buzzword.
>I won't even comment upon how much unnecessary filler this documentary feels like it has.
I liked it. I thought it let the subjects breathe and gave some atmosphere to the film. Then again I like pseudo pretentious arty shit like Twin Peaks and Oshii's Ghost In The Shell.
Exactly. Anyone with any insight is either far too intelligent to out themselves as a loser or far too autistic to say anything coherent.
>newfags showed up in 2014 think they were in the golden age
>I was already here a decade by then
feels bad, man
it was cringe
>"hello"
>"Hi this is Alex from the documentary, to interview you about Yas Forums?"
>"Alex (male) or Alex (female)?"
>"ugghh...female"
>*glass can be heard clanking* "Ah yes, I have an announcement to make"
>"S-sure, like before I interview you?"
>"Yes." *clink clink*
>"Okay"
>"ALL WOMEN ARE WHORES. GET FUCKED NORMALSHIT"
>*click*
It actually was a better time when moot was still here instead of some gook
>It's about current Yas Forums, not the one they remember
Exactly
it's made for people that follow stuff like picture related(account now deleted because of the whole google pedo thing) and facebook meme pages
Why the fuck do people follow that shit? What is the point of following Yas Forums shit on social media when you can just go on fucking Yas Forums?
This. The best internet was like '04-06 when internet speeds were fast enough for great faps, but the normies hadn't taken over. I mean don't get me wrong my Kazaa coom days were great, but that was a long time to wait for a 30sec bj video.
Their parents won't let them.
>ruined multiple boards that didn't need or want anything done to them because of redditors complaining on /q/
>"quality of life" changes to make it easier for newfrogs and mobile posters
>a better time
shut up. Moot was a prince.
>Prince of Zimbabwe
I wondered where that guy had been
Who fucking knows. Before he deleted that he had about 13k followers. Theres one for Yas Forums that has almost 50K
Its the same reason why people watch movie reviews.
I want to watch this but not infront of my wife, fucking pandemic.
tfw a wife
If you have a wife this film doesnt concern you
I discovered a forum that I posted on through most of the 2000s still exists in an almost completely dead form but with posts going back to 2004/2005 still archived, and it really hit me how fucking much I hate social media for consolidating everything under a few horribly formatted sites that killed any sense of community.
