How did Jack Huston not get a major award for this performance? I've been genuinely affected by his story and class of acting. Based show.
How did Jack Huston not get a major award for this performance...
whole show had a bunch of extremely talented actors with based performances but critics were all about MUH MAD MEN AND MUH BREAKING BAD
just came out during the AMC shilling
That makes sense. The only thing I find weak with it is how easily Jimmy tuned on Nucky, apart from that its brilliant. Nearly finished season 2 now.
tfw Weinstein fucked and or raped half of the female cast
It's a great performance, but not the kind of thing the awards ppl cum for.
I could see how he was 'Gypped' though ;)
>he thinks major awards are given out based on merit
Prepare for disappointment from then on.
t. Jimmyfag
IT still irks me that the final season was absolute garbage because it got cancelled and they couldn't tie up the plot threads properly. Then again the same thing happened to GoT even though that was massively popular with retards.
It wasn't cancelled though.
GoT? I know. I guess what I was trying to say is I was glad to see it also happened to a more popular show that normies love, even if it wasn't for the same reason.
>GoT?
Boardwalk Empire.
ARe you sure? Back when it aired there was a dude here who worked on the show (confirmed it) and he said that's what happened.
Not that user, but the BE creator got bored and wanted to work on a new show about the 70s music business instead. IIRC it failed and i don't even remember what it was called.
Damn, either way it got cut short. Really sucks cause it was great up till season 5.
Vinyl. That was cancelled after the first season.
Fuck that makes it even more irritating.
>Vinyl. That was cancelled after the first season.
Reminder basedwalkempire was cut short for this shit.
God it was so fucking bad it made westworld look good what the fuck was he thinking?
I hope the sopranos movie is good because hbo is shit
>Not that user, but the BE creator got bored and wanted to work on a new show about the 70s music business instead.
Holy shit I'd completely forgotten about that show until you mentioned it, Vinyl I think it was called? I didn't realise that the creator jumped ship to work on that garbage, great premise but completely boring and a mess.
What a shame BE got cucked out of proper final season, and most of all fuck them for making Rothstein die off-screen.
>when you remember they cut out most of the interesting bits of Capone's, Luciano's, Rothstein's, etc. lives that people had been looking forward to seeing for years
Jimmy was written out of the show at relatively short notice due to problems with Michael Pitt and wasn't the original arc for the character.
Apparently he was a nightmare to work with on set and had all kinds of addiction issues, so the story was changed in season two to write him out of the story.
>tfw no demise of AR
>tfw no Valentine's massacre
>tfw forced romance plots and Jimmy's magically aging vengeful son instead
Fuck that last season. I loved this show like a brother in law.
the entire show was kino
MUI CHIILDREN
Wrong.
Seasons 1 & 2 are quality.
3 is campy but dips in quality.
4 and 5 are a rush to the finish that bastardize characters and just feel like a sad end.
Yes I'm still mad.
2>1>5>3>4
Because the show wasn't as good as BB or Mad Men.
#1: Main character was dull. Waste of Steve Buscemi. They had a comedic/character actor...fucking Mr. Pink, play a bland as fuck corrupt politician.
#2: They killed off Jimmy in season 2.
#3: Show was never as good as BB or Mad Men got.
It's why he got overlooked. Also, producers probably didn't campaign for him.
This is how these dudes get awards. Directors and producers of the show pick the dude they think did best and then pick their best episode and some of their best clips... send them to voters.
I think Shea Whigham got more nominations for the show than he did.
It's been 8 years since he died, and 5 years since the show ended. And yes, I'm still fucking mad.
>raped by his own mother
>join the army and go to war to escape all that bullshit
>almost die a bunch of times in battle, leg gets mangled from a German grenade, forced to walk with a limp for the rest of his life
>comes home to a disrespectful kid and even more disrespectful wife
>mother still giving off rapey vibes, keeps kissing him on the mouth at every opportunity and undermining his wife
>mentor disowned him, keeps on trying to pawn him off on faggots like paddy Ryan, so orchestrate a robbery on mentor's rival, goes bad when retard crew member loses his shit because of a deer
>forced to escape to Chicago because your other crew member snitches, mentor further disowned you refusing to help
>wife exposes herself as turbo hippy dyke, fucks a lady and her photographer husband for a chance to go to Paris
>al capone is a valor stealer and general asshole, gives him tinnitus with shitty prank
>whore gf is mutilated by rivals, she kills herself with his gun
>only allowed back in Atlantic city because mentor desperate for help
>despite the fact that he helps nucky with all his problems and does all the dirty work, no room for advancement and still treated like a kid
>rapist father entices him with a coup to destroy mentor, despite this refuse to have mentor killed, even warns/saves his life
>eventually betrayed by friends, some kike butcher from Philadelphia kills your wife while she's banging some bitch in his own home
>so called "friends" give you a bunch of heroin, become a dopehead
>killed by mentor and tragic struggle is finally at an end, character forgotten forever, oy remembered by his only friend, Richard
Jimmyfag here. The show went to shit after Jimmy died. There's no way around it anymore.
>I hope the sopranos movie is good because hbo is shit
What 2019 tv show can compete with Chernobyl again?
Deuce but that's also HBO.
agreed, it wasnt the same after he died
Literally a soulless mary sue killbot. Killed innocent people for a living, showed no emotions other than "oooh cute kitten! ohhh cute kid!" which is typical writing trope bullshit.
Why do people think he was so relatable?
Al Capone was the most relatable character. He was flawed in many ways, but his was a true underdog story.
I'm mad bros, but also sad at what could have been but wasn't ;_;
Jimmy turned on Nucky because Nucky admitted to not loving him. This was such a big betrayal for him because the only other person in his youth that was supposed to love him was his mother who abused him sexually all the time. Jimmy needed to be loved by his father figure but when he found out how nucky is all about business he resented him as well.
They should've just made the show be about real historical gangsters and have it be mostly true to historical events. They were by far the most interesting aspect of the show
Nucky/Buscemi did nothing with the role, was boring to watch and basically brought nothing to the table. A complete waste.
The show's main interest was with Jimmy but that arc could only go so far and after it was spent the show never recovered.
