I started watching this show for the first time during quarantine. It's pure unadulterated kino. I can't believe I never watched it. It's better than any modern show. It's also aging like a fine wine due to timeless story arcs and the lack of CGI effects.

The first few seasons when they were shooting in Vancouver are god-tier comfy.
I rewatched the pilot a couple years back and I was amazed at how compelling it is.
it's pretty awesome to be sure
the drop in quality seasons 4~5 is astounding
it really went to shit after the movie though
>the drop in quality seasons 4~5 is astounding
Sadly, that describes pretty much every series
Season 4 was great, S5 was kinda iffy but still had some of the best episodes of the series
S6 and 7 are fun but not the same quality as 1-4
I'm the kind of fan who likes the nonsense monster of the week episodes and HATE the plot ones. It's so good when they're just having fun exploring the paranormal and it all comes grinding to a halt when it starts up the smoking man aliens shit
I think I stopped watching in favor of other things just as Duchovny peaced out. Should I bother watching the rest?
Nah honestly
I thought the mytharc episodes in season 3 were pretty good, especially that two parter set on a train
The X-files are comfy as fuck
>it's a Darin Morgan episode
Always guaranteed kino.
I can stomach much of later seasons but when Duchovny leaves its unwatcheable.
Also alien plots reached the peak with the sabotage part, after that everything collapses.
Yeah those are fine.
Am i only guy around that like comedic episodes the most? Scull and Molder play each other gloriously in those.
X-cops is season 7 and is fun as fuck, also the one with the amazing melini
I didnt care much for those either honestly. The main plot is really really really bad
Right here baby. Love that shit
>Am i only guy around that like comedic episodes the most? Scull and Molder play each other gloriously in those.
I likes the creepy supernatural episodes the most, but also loved the comedy ones, at least in the early seasons. Also Scully has never looked hotter than she did in the episode "Bad Blood."
monster of the week are by far the best kind of episodes.
the conspiracy ones are just too drawn out and spaced apart - if you watched them all consecutively theyd be alright, but broken apart theyre not my cup of tea.
Reminder
Welcome, brother.
I loved the original series.
I will never, NEVER watch seasons 10 & 11.
Me too. When there was still tons left wide-open, the myth arc was good. The writers just failed to take it anywhere all that interesting.
11 had some good eps but adds nothing good to the overall story.
The comedy episodes are all 10/10. My favorite was either “José Chung’s From Outer Space” or “Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose.” Clyde Bruckman might just be the best dark comedy I’ve ever seen.
>it's some kind of mutant who needs to eat human organs to survive episode
>despite living among humans their entire lives, they're suddenly compelled to kill 7 people over the course of a day including some of their own neighbors drawing the attention of the feebs
How could this happen lads
probably the most comfy show ever, the monster of the week episodes are the best part. such a great show
Spooky. Legit spooky.
I went through most of it again in the last few months. Give up on the myth arc episodes after season 3/4, it's sorta pointless.
Both are ignoring theres a few absolute masterpieces in S6 also. Everything after that is pointless.
Drive is essentially tv history as it's how Gilligan got introduced to Bryan Cranston because of it. Solid episode too.
I completely agree. The diamonds make up for all the coal.
