If you're a surgeon, anaesthesia, emergency etc you have to have absolute confidence in yourself (if there isn't anyone more senior to consult obviously) when in theatre. Incompetence, hesitation, inability to lead the team etc will lead to unnecessary deaths.

If you're referring to GPs/family doctors, you need to remember about half the population can't even finish college and is completely unable to make good decisions or think long term. It's necessary here to prevent people doing brain-dead shit they'll come to regret like sterilising themselves at 18.

The only reason people shit on us is because they don't work jobs where anything less than excellence and zero hesitation leads to death.
