>If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?
What does this line mean?
>If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?
What does this line mean?
The rule he's referring to is acting like a sane person with morals
But the whole movie is a dream so that doesn't make sense because it didn't happen.
Rule? I swear i thought he said road!
The neo-western genre is rare but it is KINO. Both this and Sicario make my pee pee hard.
Hell or High Water
Yeah
Sicario was reddit as shit
Anton meant rhetorically that the rule he followed ultimately led him to his early murder
So it was an absolutely useless rule in terms of self-preservation
you misinterpreted the movie
Kino.
Love the plain west Texas settings. Old Hollywood Texas was mountains and monument valley.
Now west Texas is shot on site and you see the vast empty desert. It fits the themes of the movies.
>Sicario
Was fucking retarded
Its plot hole the movie
I love this line because it also foreshadows his own fate.
He follows his own rules, then gets into a random car crash and almost dies. What was the point of his rules if at any moment in time his enitre life can just die
more like Spicario LMAO
He's basically saying 'I am inevitable'
Pic VERY much related!!
>masterfully created tension and filmmaking is shit
Please stop
What comic book character would be worthy of being portrayed by Bardem?
Lobo
if that's true then it seems like many of Coen bros movies follow the theme of "life is entirely chaos/tragic and pointless to find meaning"
No Country For Old Men
A Serious Man
Barton Fink
Burn After Reading
The Big Lebowski
Inside Llewyn Davis
Ballad of Buster Scruggs
I would include Fargo but Marge is actually optimistic about life even with how shitty things get.
It just shows that he's a hypocrite who preaches his moral philosophy to the people he kills only to not follow it when his own life is in danger.
this pretty much
They are absurdist. Typical of atheist jews. Can't find meaning in anything.
Wind River baby
>individual outcome is more important than universal law
The cry of the weak, the pathetic, and the degenerate. They believe their momentary pleasure is more important than the stability and morality of the greater society.
He meant that in a random world full of chaos and senseless violence, morality is increasingly futile. Your choices don't matter because you never really had a choice. People choose "to be affected by emotion…[and] sink into a state of saving captivity” because emotion is a “thoughtless choice in an unmanageable situation…[that] is now integrated into the personal life of the individual” -Sartre nigga
>the degenerate
Stopped reading once I realized you were just an angry Yas Forumstard.
There is no greater society without the individuals pleasure. If the individual does not benefit (pleasure) then the greater society serves no purpose, its stability meaningless. If the society does not serve its people, then why should the people serve it? For thousands of years before recorded history people lived without large scale greater societies. These were hard and trying times. The greater society of today could collapse and reduce our lives to their most primitive states once again, and the result would be nothing in the grand scale of things. Nothing cares what happens to us. The constant rise and fall of human civilization is meaningless, not just to the greater universe, but also to individuals beyond the fall of a society for they never knew its benefits, and draw backs, in the first place.
Wherever you are, whatever you experience, is what there is. That which you don't know, may as well have never existed. All is fleeting. Enjoy the moment, for it is already passed.
>reeeeee! pol!
>hedonism lulz
>hedonism
A shallow reading, that misunderstands, is was never capable of understanding and comprehension in the first place.
A response typed this quickly can not possibly be a decent contribution to the discussion, so I am not going to read it. Try again.
>reeee hedonism!
>reeee u didnt think about muh dumb post
C H A O S
life is unpredictable and often the hubris of what men think is right leads them down a dark and treacherous path
I fell asleep watching this crap
Imagine having zero testosterone in your body to think this way
>CHAOS
is a ladder.
Once again did not read. You have one more chance to try again and make an actual contribution to the thread. If you fail again you have been proven a poor troll.
