The "blankposting" you speak of is a unicode character that doesn't render right and is left blank or it looks like a square on my browser anyway. So I've never fallen for it.
The robot was never updated, whoever set it up probably doesn't even know it is still running. Hell, that person could be dead. The robot was set and forget by somebody over a decade ago. If it's still running, it's getting a "you can't blank post" error" every morning at 7:00AM EST.
