The New Batman Adventures

This gets often overlooked because it's overshadowed by BTAS and everybody starts talking about BTAS when batman tv shows are brought up.
So I made this thread in appreciation to a good tv show that doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

Discuss. What's your favorite episode? Mine is when Batman breaths Scarecrows toxin and loses his fears and beats everyone up like a badass. Followed by Scarface's mental problems episode.

All I remember is the shit art style

it's not that bad. it's almost the same as in BTAS but less details, somewhere more somewhere bit less. i guess they couldn't afford letting another studio go bankrupt.

people shit on it relative to the original series, but one of the best episodes (Over the Edge) is TNBA

I consider it part of BTAS.
I wasn't aware that people consider it a different series just because it had a different art style

This. Over the Edge may be the single best episode of all the animated Batman series.

this, over the edge is so far beyond what the average cartoon has done since

it is direct sequel though

The designs were simpler, but the animation was smoother. It is a tradeoff. I didn't mind the stiffer
animation with more detailed designs. I do like the later designs too, just not as much. They're all part of a great animated series.

Why didn't you save her. Yas Forums?

Over the Edge is overrated. It's probably the best episode of TNBA but it's just on par with the good/great episodes of B:TAS and Batman Beyond.

i thought those was earlier episodes because art was so much worse
now i know that art is deteriorating the longer production goes, not other way around

The real reason is because they fucked up BADLY by changing the art style. I could never watch any of the 'new' ones after Season 2 because the art style looked so fucking ugly and horrendous that it was time to move on.

It's sad how the dcau progressively looked lazier and lazier when they got it so perfect on the first try.

The new art style was kino, you're just autistic because you can't accept a visual change but consistent story continuity.

I watched judgment day recently and it was pretty good, it gets a bit overlooked, if it had been part of the first series it'd be considered one of the classics. Such a simple but cool premise. Not try hard like over the edge. And visually it doesn't look too much like a major step down.

No. No it wasn't. You're wrong.

>you can't accept a visual change but consistent story continuity.
It was absolute garbage. They kept most of the original voices, mangled the art designs, and fucked up the story continuity by getting rid of Robin and making him night wing when there were so many other stories or new stories they could have written. The bottom line is they fucked up badly.

What's weird is that they mostly kept the same old style for the backgrounds which retain a certain noir, very detailed and expressionist texture but the more cartoonish cleaner character design with flat colors don't fit.

My main problem with the show is Bruce Wayne. He becomes an emotionless prick in and out of the costume in this season. This trend was further seen in Beyond, which annoyed me.

Also Joker looked nothing like a clown. Should have stuck with the Blue Meanie look.

me on the right

i watch this video on pornhub were robin was fucking batman

giving joker the Zsasz eyes was a mistake
he has zero expression now. I don't get how people can say Mad Love is a good episode when it looks like that

I showed my friends Mad Love and they loved it so I had the resist the autistic urge to complain about Joker's design.
I knew they'd never read the comic and the episode is 99% perfect besides how Joker looks.

At least Joker's design got corrected for Justice League.

Yeah I hated that. His character became less human to me than in btas.

and return of the joker

how did they know about Harvey Weinstein?
