Except that Chevy Chase has a decades long history of being a fucking asshole.
Finally found 4channel, eh Chevy?
seems based to me
>not realising that Pierce drinking ink straight from the pen was the zenith of his character
pleb
he was on SNL which was cutthroat enough then he was a leading man and one of the biggest comedic actors of his time
dude was amazing at shtick and his talents were wasted
A lot of Pierce's dialogue was shit Chase said on set between takes and in his trailer, that the writers would write down and insert in later episodes to make fun of Chase. He usually didn't even notice they were quoting him.
I don't know much about Chase, but I loved him as Pierce and have normie friends who remark how he was the best character in Community. But is it true that he thought Harmon was deliberately writing Pierce as gay?
>Harmon was deliberately writing Pierce as gay?
Not gay, but he was deliberately writing him as the most unlikable person and a joke because Chevy was the only one who would call him out
Donald was the only person who was allowed to improvise and Harmon got pissed if anyone else went off script
Pierce was the best character
>he was on SNL which was cutthroat enough
What would have been cutthroat about the original cast?
user, EVERYONE on set hated Chevy and openly talk about how difficult he was to work with. Do you really sympathize with the guy making everyone's job worse because he doesn't like that his character is a dick?
The coke
Lorne Michaels
Go to bed Chevy
No one fucking cares
So does Harmon
>Chase correctly calls out Harmon for being a fat alcoholic hack
>he's somehow the bad guy
I care.
"why don't we just have pierce say nigger"
they hated chevy because he told the truth
I don't know why you fags say the character was ruined, he had some of his best episodes after S1
Do you think Pierce would have been better if he was suddenly a likeable good guy?
His season one character was an old man who is stubborn and stuck in his old world views but is genuinely trying to better himself because he likes his friends even though they make fun of him
This honestly. I never see this Pierce decline shit he's always funny to me.
It’s weird looking back at season 1 Pierce and seeing the character Harmon wanted him to be before he started turning him into a punching bag for the sole purpose of spiting Chevy.

I would take it as a badge of fucking honour if Harmon and his band of sycophants didn't like me. Funny how Joel McHale seemed to have no problems with him
because Joel is actually based
Chase is an egotistical asswipe who didn't want to share the limelight. Same reason he quit Community, he thought he was the star of the show. Don't get me wrong, I think he's great but he's still a douchebag. Anywho, we need The Groove Tube on bluray. m.youtube.com
His season one character was boring as fuck. Literally just Jeff but old. Pill popping/early onset dementia Pierce was the most consistently funny character on the show
Chevys a based asshole. all the stories of him being an asshole are kinda hilarious if you read them like when he told Robert Downey Jr "didnt your dad used to be a famous director? Boy he sure went to hell, hes dead now haha fuck you faggot" or when he told some gay guy on SNL they should do a sketch where he has AIDS and they can weight him every week to see all the weight he keeps losing or when he goes around saying the n word on set of Community because Richard Pryor gave him a lifetime N-word pass in the 70s
Fat Neil D&D game was probably the peak of Pierce being unlikeable and probably his funniest episode ever
Pierce was the one character that wasn't ruined.
He stayed a caricature throughout the show, so they couldn't ruin him in any way.
