Has this gotten any better since i dropped it at the start of season 4?
I just want more time shenanigans.

I WANT MORE GAY RAPE
How much does Jaime get raped after season 1?
better question is, how much raping does he do
I'm not watching s5 till it's done but I liked 4 more than the caribbean malarky
I commend them for not taking the highlander to modern day when that's basically a given in this type of story.
Not enough, but pretty much everyone in his immediate family does
its peak comfy now but it's going to go pure cringe when the revolution kicks in
Have the scotts loyal to the crown been introduced yet?
women primal fantasy: the show
It's very slow paced, due to the book material having a stupid amount of padding, but if you don't need a lot of whizz-bang, you've got yourself a comfy show.
Season 4 and 5 is basically just Claire/Jame setting up Frasers ridge and introducing a shitload of characters into the mix who will be making up the next generation. There are a lot of contrivances to bring most of the past characters to the same place as well.
It does feel a bit soap opera sometimes and it would have benefited from just cutting the book's fat and getting on with the Revolution (bad news, the books are way ahead and still haven't gotten around to it) so the show is probably going to splutter out around season 6, maybe 7.
Jamie becomes a red-coat captain, so yes, him and all his Scots declare loyalty to the crown.
first season was fine, the rest sucks. at season 3 it starts getting so fucking cheesy that i just couldn't bear watching.
and that's coming from someone who actually read those books, they are already cheesy enough to skip a few pages every now and then.
oh, and shitty greenscreen shit. and eastern europe seriously doesn't look convincing as north carolina.
that scene where the governor insists that Jaime wears the redcoat into battle was hard to watch, Can't imagine anything more painful for a literal highlander whose entire culture and way of life was shattered by men wearing said coat to be forced to wear. truly there is no end to his suffering
Somehow he'll have to find a way to suffer on with his acres of land, smoking wife, 30 year old looking perfect body (despite being "50"), loving family and future foresight superpowers.
Poor poor Jamie.
>knows the future
>still sides with the losers.
he got raped in the booty tho
It's STARZ so.. we all know it won't get better.
are you all women and faggots?
This is why any time, and in any way, reparations are a retarded proposal. Any wrong doing so drastic to call for reparations will never be satisfied by them.
Jamie could have become king of Scotland and he'd still be the poor guy who got diddled in a prison once.
Diana Gabaldon actually started getting a bit crazy in the last book and included a supposed prophecy about the true king of scotland coming from the clan of the frasers of lovat, including a sidestory about his daughter in 1968 being hunted by a mysterious group for being the last Fraser of Lovat
Shit is so ducking silly, but I still love it. The show is a bit too much for me though.
I liked it up to the current season. There is too much filler and that episode a few weeks ago where they kept cutting away to the silent film sequences was absolute shit.
I really like the current season cause its quite slow paced and comfy with life on the ridge but you are spot on about that episode, what a shit idea that was.
It's not the slower pace that I have a problem with. I wish more historical dramas took time to explore the setting and period. My problem is with the amount of inane filler, like that episode and the one a few prior that was just flashbacks and Claire rambling on about nothing.
Are the books as ridiculously narrated as the show?
I hate causality loops. they should have gone with alternate future where Claire either fucks things up or changes stuff for the better.
Someone post the webm of that perfect English-French booty.
>dyes her grey hair
>deages 20 years.
It's not exactly high literature, no. But they're still pretty good, there's a reason they're so popular.
A bit like the Harry Potter series I guess. Bad writing, but still good.
Gotta give it to her though, she's a professor and knows how to research things. It's historically very, very accurate.
I kind of enjoy how little the show gives a shit about aging, i'd rather the way they do it now than sticking some ugly old person makeup on or recasting them. Jamie's 'oh I need glasses now so you know i'm 20 years older' thing was even funnier than Claire's grey hair shit.
Must have been a bitch of an audition process though
>We need a woman who can convincingly play 27 years old in S1 but also 52 years old by S3.
>It's historically very, very accurate.
this and it crosses over into the show. the period detail is about as good as i've seen in a historical show.
Yeah, the medical stuff is also very accurate. She didn't make anything up with all the herb bullshit, it's all realistic
