14 year old commie is pissed that they made fan of his mancrush Joseph Vissarionovich

>can't think of a good reason to dislike the movie that wont open you up to being made fun of and dismissed as a seething commie baby
>I-IT SUCKS, IT JUST DOES, SHUTUP

>the things that actually happened historically are beyond fucking stupid
I mean, yeah kinda

It's not so much what happened, it's how they depict it. Apparently everyone in Russia speaks English with an American or British accent, who knew.

The film is meant to exude British humour. I wouldn't have laughed once it it wasn't delivered in that way, and if it were in Russian.

Ameritrash. Wish Iannucci would go back to the UK.

The structure could have been neater but it was pretty funny

Does Yas Forums really believe this?

Dumbest critique I've ever heard

>Hurr HBO’s Rome is trash because they aren’t speaking Latin

My understanding is that a lot of the banter was semi-improv and it most definitely shows (in a very bad ways) at time. this is why you have a script & scriptwriters.

However, the beginning scenes of Stalin forcing the band to replay the song is pitch perfect and even dumbed down to what really happened.

>when Nikita tries to change position during the funeral
gold, and the kangaroo court and execution at the end really caught me off guard, kino

that was a joke

Every scene with Stalin was gold
>When they are all dead tired after having to entertain him all day, and he insist they watch a cowboy movie
>When he got a heart attack and the guy watching his door dont dare check what the noise was.

An actual, proper russian accent is incredibly hard to do. I know you think you and your tankie friends can do them but you cant. People just speaking english is much more immersive than shitty cheap russian accents. It also makes a lot of the wordplay based comedy possible

Is it kino? I don’t know anything about this film. Should I watch it?

I'm not going to write that the movie is an entire waste but, after Stalin dies, you just feel the movie come apart at the seams. It doesn't know what it wants to do or what to put the emphasis on. This is where the semi-improv hurts: You NEED a strong second act and you need a first act that sets up the strengths of the second act. All you have in this movie is a good first act with Stalin dying.

That scene is the only good part of the movie. Had high hopes after that but it turned into unfunny unstructured pointless comedy.

Only until Stalin dies, unless you want to see a bunch of actors winging their way through a script. It does, in all fairness, hit some broad points in the events of how Stalin died but it's otherwise a fanciful "comedic" retelling of those events.

.... it's a comedy...

This

>Film is shit because it isn't entirely in Russian with English subtitles
Jesus Christ, user.

Watched an interview about it and one of the reasons they let everyone talk in their normal accent was because Russia, like most of Europe, has a wide range of regional accents.

retard, have a (You), clearly you dont get any IRL

This is the only part that is funny.

Commie here, I enjoyed it and recommended it to all my commie friends, who also enjoyed it.

>It doesn't know what it wants to do or what to put the emphasis on.

Yes it does. It's entirely about who takes power after and whether or not Khruschev can beat Beria.

It's a good comedy.

Marshall Georgy Zhukov is relentlessly handsome

>Stalin has random people killed for no reason

This didn't actually happen, right?

>This didn't actually happen, right?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Gr8 b8 m8. Have a (You).
