It was my first lynch film, i liked it
I still have Inland Empire to watch but all his films are kino so far
Now play the videogame adaptation.
watch the elephant man if you want to be surprised and feel some feels
Blue Velvet bros get in here
I think eraserhead it's his best, might have to rewatch lost highway and Mulholland drive since it's been a while and I wasn't familiar with his works except for twin peaks, also I saw wild at heart recently, funny and over the top, it was good tho
have you seen
Now watch Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, Wild At Heart in that order.
THEN watch Twin Peaks Season 1, Season 2, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (film), Season 3 in that order.
Then watch Eraserhead and Inland Empire in that order.
The Elephant Man, Dune and The Strait Story are not essential in any way shape or form (though The Elephant Man is well acted and stylish for a tear jerker oscar bait)
Rabbits and The Short Films Of David Lynch are great bonus viewing.
Now you've seen the best one
>severe reddit spacing
>muh oscar b8
and I thought we were the contrarians
GET READY TO FUCK
You say nothing about anything nor give an opinion about the films I mentioned nor the order I recommended. Instead you gatekeep the fashion in which I post. Kinda hollow and pointless yeah? But by all means proud user keep upholding those Yas Forums rules :)
Well you passive aggressive redditor if you would care to properly peruse my post you'd see I was referring to your comment on the elephant man.
>Kinda hollow and pointless yeah?
Yes, like dismissing it as muh oscar b8, and being a smarmy but stupid little queer such as yourself.

>like all his of his stuff
>except Eraserhead
what does it mean bros
It means he's a pleb of the highest order, since his early stuff, especially Eraserhead and The Elephant Man is the best.
the scene where they fuck in the desert in the end made me more emotional than I'm comfortable admitting to
no, I also haven't seen straight story and inland empire, also I'm planning a rewatch of twin peaks in the future (the return expecially)
watch the elephant man, like today.
Let's settle this once and for all, Yas Forums. Do you have to "get" a movie to appreciate it, or is that a pleb take and all that matters is if whether or not you got some enjoyment/emotional response out of it?
Movies are not documentaries, after all, so I'm personally leaning towards the latter. With Lost Highway as an example, without reading some attempts to explain it, I didn't really realize that the second part of the movie could be interpreted as a dream/fantasy of the protagonist from the first part. Maybe because I'm a brainlet, or maybe because I didn't give myself enough time to actually process what I've watched and instead did a disservice to myself and replaced my own opinion with someone else's thoughts on the matter. Either way, I still enjoyed the movie as it was, before making a lot of sense of the plot.
you can enjoy a film without getting it, but it's retarded to not interrogate yourself on what you're watching, for example when I watch a lynch film it's impossible for me to not think about a possible meaning, first of particular scenes and then of the entire film, which could be wrong or only partial but it's always better to read an explanation or some shitty youtuber essay, it helps that the work of lynch, as well of many other directors, is open to multiple meanings and interpretations
TWIN PEAKS EXPLAINED 4 HOUR YOUTUBE VIDEO.... fuck off dork
>mfw feeling like rewatching Elephant Man
