Enjoying Beocca so far this season, curious what sort of character Uhtred the younger will be.
>watch tv with mommy dearest
>nothing new to see
>try to sneak an episode of of the last kingdom in without her getting bored
>she likes it
>she thinks uhtred is a chad
>she watches the first 3 seasons twice
>can't watch the new season without it showing up as "watched" on netflix
>can't watch season 4 tonight or else she'll be upset
>have to wait until tomorrow
Just started watching this yesterday, so much better than Vikings
second person on netflix, delete once you're done, maybe?
is it out?
Yeah
ok christcuck
I'm pretty sure the danelaw was occupied by the norsemen for a couple hundred years
It’s a vehicle for british and christian bullshit.
All of Cornwells historical fiction is like
Broody and surly MC who finds that hes inexplicably amazing at combat and tactics, always finds himself at the right time right place.
Sharpe, Starbuck, Uthred. Basically change the character and stories still work the same.
In Sharpe, Sharpe basically runs around single handedly capturing eagles turning tides of battles, in the Starbuck chronicles, Starbuck again basically runs around battlefields, managing to convince regiments to hold their place and is generally an amazing officer despite evidence to the contrary
based cozy larp show hail odin
What's your point?
i still want to crush skade's skull with a rock
that's not exactly why the show is ass but it's a contributing factor. Tbh i'm just happy someone else hates it.
>Millie Brady titties in 1st scene
Based
>Fucked by Gary Stu self-insert
Cringe
I really wanted to like this show but he's such a dogshit protagonist and it completely ruins the storytelling. It makes me appreciate the last GOT seasons more, they may be flawed or even infuriating at times but at least I never struggled to remain interested.
The christians may have won some battles (mainly by massacring the norsemen such as during the brice day massacre) but lost the war ultimately
It's creative liberty when the battles portrayed in the show reflect this fact of history and has nothing to do with any imaginary "anti-christian" agenda like OP is claiming
It's not so much that he's a pagan but more he's a gary stu.
That said Assandun and several other battles are given entirely as Alfred's victories.
T. Read the books
And I'm pretty sure you don't know what you're talking about
865 - fall of York to Vikings
927 - Athelstan completed Danelaw reconquest with fall of York
Vikings only won initially due to shock tactics and exploiting a civil war in Northumbria.
horrible show, don't understand how anyone liked it
Beocca ;_;
>Danelaw can describe the set of legal terms and definitions created in the treaties between the King of Wessex, Alfred the Great, and the Danish warlord, Guthrum, written following Guthrum's defeat at the Battle of Edington in 878.
>As a term of surrender, King Alfred demanded that Guthrum be baptised a Christian; King Alfred served as his godfather.[17]
post the pretty grill with the stupid name already
Edward chads ww@
Bernard Cornwell really does not like Christians.
Read the warlord chronicles. He wants the viewers to root for the smug celtic pagans who commit human sacrifice and shows arthur literally looting a monastery as a noble and smart thing.
Reading the Sharpe books and in one Sharpe's Trafalgar he starts having an affair with some lords wife, presented as a good thing. When the guys secretary finds out and blackmails Sharpe he lures him to the bottom of the ship breaks both his arms and snaps his neck. This is presented as a good thing because he's protecting the last. I'm not kidding. It's bizarrely evil and then just not discussed again.
Cornwall books are entertaining but all his characters are interchangeable borderline gary stus. Similar plots too.
