>character is evil because... he’s evil
Character is evil because... he’s evil
shit bait
There are some people in this world who really are evil horrible pieces of shit. So it's not like they don't exist.
damn this dude was twisted
That fat fuck Martin just ripped off all the shit Shakespeare did
>Ramsey is Edmund
>Kingslayer Jaimie is Kingmaker Richard
>Fucking Lannister is Lancaster
Based smart enough to know that GoT is a rip-off but not smart enough to read Shakespeare poster
>shakespeare
>needing to be smart
We were given othello and hamlet in elementary school
>You don't just have people who wake up in the morning and say, "What evil things can I do today, because I'm Mr. Evil?" People do things for what they think are justified reasons. Everybody is the hero of their own story, and you have to keep that in mind. If you read a lot of history, as I do, even the worst and most monstrous people thought they were the good guys. We're all very tangled knots.”
What did GRRM mean by this?
Simon isnt evil, hes just autistic you asshole. Hence his invisibility super power.
>people need a reason to be bad
I know it's a meme, but why do people need some kind of convoluted backstory to explain why somebody is evil?
id fuck both charlotte and ramsey
Psychopath gonna psychopath. Especially if they are literally the law.
yeah. just like irl
moron
Isn't he evil because he's a bastard child of rape?
Why do you say convoluted? If there is no explanation then it just comes off as goofy and unconvincing. Like in comic books. But i guess some don’t have a problem with that
Knowing how to read and absorbing context are different
which figure did he base the dragons on
>If there is no explanation then it just comes off as goofy and unconvincing
Why?
Because the inevitable question comes. ”Why?” Why is this character doing evil things. The natural state for humans is to be neutral or good, not evil. Especially nt as evil as Ramsay. Most of it is subconcious ofcourse and thats why these types of characters are referred to as comic book villains
You have a fundamentally naive grasp of the human condition, user.
>the inevitable question comes
That question is inevitable only for autists. What is important is if the character is consistent.
His father murdered his mother's husband and raped her. Then took the baby in after deciding not to have it killed, and after sending the mother away with some money. Then as a stigmatized basatard he was raised adjacent to the family by a smelly, weirdo sadist named Reek while his father's legitimate son was accepted.
Michael Myers isn't evil. He is a catatonic vessel for an unknowable evil that can pass into the body on Halloween, a time traditional considered the part of the year when the barrier between the material and the spirit realm is thinnest.
But its true. You dont see normal people go out of their way to be mean or evil. Most people are neutral and sometimes do good deeds
As i said it’s mostly subconcious for people but it can still be analyzed
This show was already so fucking bad at this point that these meme characters were the only ones keeping it entertaining. Same with the Iron Isles guy.
>most people
you said it yourself. sometimes there are sadistic fucks in the world. have you heard of ted bundy? you do realize that serial killers exist? kitten torturers? not to mention roose was one mean motor scooter, he would've fucked with ramsey a lot as a kid, creating that little demon we saw. yeah he's exaggerated for effect, but these people do exist.
>You dont see normal people go out of their way to be mean or evil. Most people are neutral and sometimes do good deeds
That's why movies are not about normal people
>it can still be analyzed
Why should it though
And those people had something messed up in their upbringing they weren’t born as mental mass-killers
>why should it though
It’s fun
>character is evil because... He is evil
who wrote this shit?
>It’s fun
Hmmm, should we spend valuable screentime delving into a villain's childhood or just have him do villanous things and trust the audience to know that's what villains are for. Truly a conundrum.
>any movie that has backstory to a character was a waste of time
>what do you mean slide backstory in via for example dialogue?
>character is evil because... he's based
>put in two lines about a villain's past
>autists are crying that's not enough to go on and screaming it's a handwave
I mean, why psychoanalyze stories as if they exist in the real world? Evil is the source of conflict a hero must overcome. It doesn't need explanation unless you're not capable of being unconstrained by reality
