It's not easy to glorify WWI, especially the Western front. It was a buzzsaw where millions of men were slaughtered over a sliver of land in Northern France. Occasionally you'll get Brits glorifying it but that's because the French bore the brunt of the German war machine.

what? even during his time when he released it, many WW1 vets questioned its authenticity to the front. he also made a lot of shit up himself. alot of scenes of the book are straight up fictional. read storm of steel for something closer to reality.
