What's the moral of the story?
Be a whore but dont steal from your tricks if you live with your kid.
How brutal late stage capitalism is. It also crushes the idea that sex workers really like what they do. I'd say 95%+ of them only do it because they're in poverty.
Don’t be poor
>teacher in kissimmee FL
>1/4 of my students live in hotels
It’s sad actually.
>kissimmee
dafoe was such an asshole to that old guy just because he wanted a fucking soda. wtf
this film portrays how prostitution is not a victimless crime
Based
How it does tht?
the children of women who whore themselves out are victimized
their parents, siblings and loved ones are as well. They are shamed by her choice to be a whore
typical incel, you're so obsessed with the fact you can't have sex and your resentment of women picking everybody else on earth that you that you can't even focus on a story or enjoy something that has a woman in it.
fix your life
females went from being wives and mothers to tattooed, foul mouthed, dope smoking single moms who'd sell thier kid for another fix of mary jane.
None. Sean Baker is just a misanthrope and pretends he's a nice caring filmmaker..
Aren't hotels more expensive than renting?
Yes. Yes. So much this. Exploitation filmmaking masquerading as empathetic. Look at the freaks in Bedlam and laugh.
it depends, a lot of hotels in Florida have extended stays for like 125 a night. In The Florida Project she's paying 35 a night which equals out to 245 a week which equals out to 980 a month which is insane for what you get at a hotel. I live in Northwest Florida and 980 could get me a condo on the beach.
125 a week* sorry. but that's like a bed bugs hooker hotel in a bad neighborhood.
You are a retard. She got her kid taken because she stole from that guy. That has nothing to do with me or anyone else. It was that character's choices that put her there.
Yea but they dont require a lease, security deposit, credit check...that apartments do.
unfortunately you can't follow a simple story because you obsess about a woman being a "whore" and have an autistic meltdown about a woman being on your television; instead of just going "Oh she stole from her kid and beat her friend up" and you can't see the forest for the trees for WHY she was in that position because you lack life experiences that would make you understand other people live different lives.
America is a failed country
Why didn't she ask her beaner friend to hook her up with a job at the diner or ask to work as a maid for the motel?
Is Melbourne like this? I’m crossing my fingers that I get an internship over there.
she did, when they went out for food. Her friend said there wasn't an opening yet. And the only thing that fucked up their relationship was when the kids goofed around and burned that old condo down and Scoot snitched.
her "friend" was too much of a pussy to explain to her what happened
Thanks feminism! So empowering!
and Bobby wouldn't have hired her anyway, the Motel was getting new management and changing everything too. The Movie starts in a transitional period, Haley was a dancer and she was getting hours cut, Her friend had to wait for a position to open up at the Diner, Bobby was dealing with trying to run a motel and be a nice guy when his owners weren't putting up with the state of the place, Haley almost got arrested selling perfumes and couldn't do that any more for rent money.
the movie with the kids is going on while all that stuff is going on outside of them.
I don’t know I never watched it but all women are whores.
It's just a social commentary on modern low-income America and all the problems associated with it (single motherhood, drug abuse, etc.).
you incels are so lucky Yas Forums is a safe space nowadays, years ago you all would be called out for the closet faggots you really are, consider yourself lucky.
