Agreed. A3 over Aliens is the clear patrician taste. I love Aliens for what it is and for all of the cool shit in the genre it created, but as a follow up to Alien and flagpole entry in the series, it really did some damage to the psycho terrifying mystery of the Alien by making it into a space ant.

There is no objective reason to think that Alien 3 is better than the forth movie. Aliens is nice but it's just an action flick and it doesn't fit well with the rest of the movies.

I haven't watched Firefly but I must admit that space pirates added quite a few points to Resurrection. The scenes with them felt alot like the crew scenes from the first movie.
