The first three season of this were fantastic, can’t believe it was constantly on the brink of cancellation. Why was no one watching?

third season was lame

boomers don't watch sitcoms that break the typical mold. same reason it took so long for arrested development to be appreciated.

Because it's a horribly uninteresting show on the surface level and Abed just makes it seem Big Bang Theory quality.

Just started season 5, I expect shorter seasons will mean less interesting episodes and more melodrama

It was on at the same time as The Office, Parks and Rec, and 30 Rock. Tough competition.

For some reason I always thought it looked dumb when it was on so I never watched it, but now I regret that

Tried marathoning it once, and just couldn't get into it, even as background filler. I didn't love The Office but at least it wasn't actively shit.

There is literally no redeeming qualities it has, besides some eye-candy. It's would probably be possible to make something like a 15 minute compilation of anything worth seeing on Brie, so nobody has to actually pretend to like this crap.

Is that why Chevy Chase left too

No. It was because Dan Harmon and Chevy Chases egos clashed.

I'm watching this for the first time now. First two seasons were great, on S3 now which is is a little weaker. I've heard the fourth season sucks. Should I push through S4, skip to S5, or just stop?

4 is honestly better than 5. I dropped it before watching 6.

Just answer this question first:
Do you have anything better to do?

Season 4 is a pleb filter and is honestly better than 5.
The seasons got more and more cartoonish as the series went on, so 4 felt like an appropriate escalation from 3

The answer to that question is always "yes" for any show, but I don't have anything better to watch.

I thought the episode where Ian Duncan hangs out with Jeff in season 5 was good. Ass crack bandit was good too.

Why did Childish Gambino leave then?

I think the official answer was he wanted to work on his music, which got huge in fairness.

S1>S2>S3>S5>S4>S6

Season 4 was retconed, it doesn't get any lower than that

Horribly uninteresting? No. Terribly overrated? Yes. Even the "good" seasons were really dumb. And people suck S2's dick, but some of the best episodes were on S3.

I think the season 4 hate must be a type of confirmation bias. I watched community years after it was over without any knowledge of who dan harmon was or any of the behind the scenes shit and I thought season 4 wasn't even that different from 3. The 5th season is really fucking bad and the show definitely deserved to be trashed after that.

Season 6 was wonderful. Elroy and Frankie were great additions.

Didn't Harmon say some shit about being vindicated by Yahoo showing him tens of millions of unique IP streams for the episodes released there?

Dan Harmon had the entire cast say fuck you to him

His entire character was out of touch boomer

Became too cartoony and meta.

>tease Annie and Jeff for the entire show
>nothing comes of it
I was shipping them so hard in season 2

Chevy also didn't like the hours and didn't get a lot of the show according to McHale. Also he said the N word on set so that didn't help him.

Music and also he got “woke” and began sticking it to the wh*te man, apparently he suddenly began to dislike the rest of the cast for being too wh*te and felt uncomfortable, which is weird considering the show had a pretty diverse cast since the beginning

i'd be pissed if i was chevy too but they both seem like huge assholes irl.

This. It wasn't a group of friends in the city constantly trying to get laid, and it wasn't a family in the suburbs with a father/husband that was always wrong. It had no chance.

he works with white people constantly and his wife is white. Any evidence of this because I've never heard of this.

Why its a bunch of people who have no where near as much money as you saying fuck you as a joke he overreacted but yea Dan was probably shit faced and was trying to impress that writer he wanted to bang.

Dan Harmon is a toxic personality. He’s been fired from nearly every show he’s been involved with for being a tremendous asshole.

He reminds me of John K (Ren and Stimpy) in that he uses his talent as justification to be a manic psycho to his staff and the networks.

I’ve heard rumblings that Roiland and Harmon aren’t on the best of terms these days and I’m sure it’s because Harmon wore him down. Dude was fired from Sarah Silverman’s Show for being a dick and got fired off Communtiy for the same shit
