First time learning anything about The Witcher universe.
Have never seen a fantasy setting with such diverse human races existing together. Can someone who has read the books explain to me the backstory of why there are so many white and black people in the same country. Was it from some kind of ancient slavery, two continents becoming one in some war, or are we seeing a very wealthy nation that draws people to it from all over the world, etc?
It's an interesting setting but I feel like I'm missing an important backstory on how the characters are from such different human groups.
First time learning anything about The Witcher universe
That's just netflix's trash. Most humans in the witcher are "white" and actually extremely racist.
oh, that's kinda lame. I was expecting some diplomatic thing or war or something. never mind then.
Nice bait op
Collision of the spheres (different universes) is what brought humans and monsters to the world of the elves. In the books those people are mostly Slavs although there are some black people from exotic places. In the show it was more evenly distributed where humans got dropped off. Also elves are generally brown so mixed race features are indicative of some measure of interbreeding.
>why there are so many white and black people in the same country
Lauren explained it perfectly here
>why
Has any other show made /tvpol/ seethe harder than the Witcher? Lauren is based for that alone
>can a house be just a foundation?
>of course it fucking can't you dumb hag
>perfect, I'm building this house without foundations then
>Has any other show made /tvpol/ seethe
With what? Being a terrible show?
Hook, line, and sinker
>get biggest Netflix budget
>make a show that looks like 1997 UPN schlock
>"haha, based guys, based, red pilled, based!"
You have to make it believable, at least.
Seriously, Cavill literally makes this show. I honestly didn't and don't care for the other plots, but every time Cavill is on screen, the show just becomes infinitely better. I feel bad for him that he has to basically carry the show with all the other piss poor decisions that were made in spite of him.
Come on man, even if it did trigger Yas Forums you gotta admit it wasn't a well-made program
>medieval euro fantasy
It has its flaws but all things considered it's pretty good. This isn't bait, it's actually what I think
That's fair. Jaskier and Anya are the next best things but Cavill is pretty clearly the main asset
He's just as bad as everything else.
>it's pretty good
What's good about it?
It's fun.
>all things considered it's pretty good
Really? The incoherent story or the primitive dialogue is fun?
Not gonna lie, you sound like a retarded faggot right now.
...
fun to shit on
Why is it bait?
because anyone liking this straight to vhs show, or wanting to discuss diversity here, defies belief.
>It has its flaws but all things considered it's pretty good. This isn't bait, it's actually what I think
Sorry for your shit taste
>This isn't bait
lmao this is the same thing people say for shit games
>In the books, no one pays attention to skin color."
But that's just wrong. In one of the short stories Geralt meets this dude and her two dark-skinned mercenaries and it is stated that they draw quite a bit of attenttion from the locals and even Geralt himself. How did this bitch get away with this bullshit? Hasn't anyone read the books? They're mediocre at best, but stil...
>How did this bitch get away with this bullshit
she's married to a big producer
>Hasn't anyone read the books?
No. She hired her friend to "basically read the books".
