Wow, I never realised how pozz LOTR was
Wow, I never realised how pozz LOTR was
Yeah, someone post the copypasta of Tolkien critiquing apartheid
Bait thread
Would a MTF tranny be able to kill the witch king?
>It is now exactly twenty years since I began in earnest to complete the history of our renowned hobbit-ancestors of the Third Age. I look East, West, North, South, and I do not see Sauron; but I see that Saruman has many descendants. We Hobbits have against them no magic weapons. Yet, my gentlehobbits, I give you this toast: To the Hobbits. May they outlast the Sarumans and see spring again in the trees.
Tolkien was anti-hate. Everybody could've learned something from him.

>Begone, foul dwimmerlaik, lord of carrion! Leave the dead in peace!”
>A cold voice answered: “Come not between the Nazgul and his prey! Or he will not slay thee in thy turn! He will bear thee away to the houses of lamentation, beyond all darkness, where thy flesh shall be devoured, and thy shrivelled mind be left naked to the Lidless Eye.”
>A sword rang as it was drawn. “Do what you will; but I will hinder it, if I may.”
>“Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!”
>Then Merry heard of all sounds in that hour the strangest. It seemed that Dernhelm laughed, and the clear voice was like the ring of steel. “But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Eowyn I am, Eomund’s daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.”
>The winged creature screamed at her, but the Ringwraith made no answer, and was silent, as if in sudden doubt.
The book scene was even more kino.
Inb4 “it was all mary’s knife”
But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Eowyn I am, Eomund’s daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.
What was Tolkeins tranny policy?
This honestly makes no sense how she(a mortal) can kill him simply because she's not a male(man).
Are you born with magic, demon-killing powers the moment you're born a woman?
It was a prophecy. its not suppose to be logical.
>awkwardly cuts to her lying on the ground seemingly dead with Eomer overacting like crazy
>she's actually fine
what did they mean by this?
At that point could you say that Eru helped her to kill him then?
No, you should know that trans men are not real women, user
That's an actually good question.
Is the prophecy magical or scientific?
Is the Witch King unable to be killed by someone who has an y chromosome fgor scientific based reasons or can he be killed by anyone who doesn't fit in the men criteria and so doesn't look traditionally masculine?
It's fantasy, not scifi.
>y chromosome don't exists in Tolkienverse
Kino
It can still be logical, tho
The prophecy was literal in its meaning that he would not be killed by a man. He understood the prophecy as meaning no human could kill him and only an elf or wizard could do it. So he shit himself when he realised he had misunderstood the prophecy. A prophecy that proved true when he was killed by a hobbit and a woman.
It's a trick of English because "man" can mean humanity and a male.
>I'm no man!
that's dumb.
Why are pre-hollywood prophecies this dumb?
Story?
>Tolkien was anti-hate
he was a catholic chomo
There was actually a very fun RuneScape quest back in the day that required you to change your gender to defeat an enemy who could be bested 'by no man'.
Wonder how many trannies it birthed
t. never read macbeth
I always thought that scene was dumb because it's a stupid play on words.
Bump
ITT people who don't understand what a prophecy is
it's not a rule saying he couldn't get killed by a man, it's a prediction saying that he won't be.
he wouldn't die by her hand alone had it not been for merry and his magic dagger he picked up in the barrow downs
now the barrow downs chapter was excluded from the movies so i don't really know what the explanation is there
>Doubtless the Orcs despoiled them, but feared to keep the knives, knowing them for what they are: work of Westernesse, wound about with spells for the bane of Mordor.
>it's a prediction
that's even dumber
should have had the hobbit kill him that would've been less gay
she didn't kill him because she was a woman
she killed him because Merry had previously stabbed him with a magical sword that completely nullified the witch king's immortality
the prophecy said that he wouldn't be killed by a man and it was true, he got killed by a woman but not because she was a woman
