Marie was awesome. Unlike Skyler, Marie clearly cares for her family and the conflict Marie introduces into the story is due to her own faults that she's treated as having actually be faults.
Skyler on the other hand was irritating for being treated as the one being put upon and mistreated for for having a husband feeling depressed over having cancer and then later on for having the husband care about having respect.
