Does being "meta" and pointing out how stupid and retarded the writing is excuse the writers of bad writing?

Does being "meta" and pointing out how stupid and retarded the writing is excuse the writers of bad writing?

Is this not the writers trying to tell us that some higher-ups had moved the story in a particular direction and they realised how stupid this was?

Nah. The Deadpool movies are crap and they use the whole meta copout.

No, it's the writers telling us they can't be bothered to properly acknowledge the bigger story.

no, if they showed angry rice naked however, that would make it okay

You should probably quote the scene, fucko.

What was the meta joke here? She referenced Endgame?

They recapped the plot of Infinity War/Endgame in a funny way and quickly explained how all the kids that Peter knew from Homecoming had been conveniently snapped, so they were all the same age.
It was basically the director having to play the canon off as a joke because he was told to make a second Spider-Man movie, and ultimately the Avengers continuity didn't matter.

>Does being "meta" and pointing out how stupid and retarded the writing is excuse the writers of bad writing?
No. Acknowledging clichés is just a lazy way of excusing poor writing. You should go further and subvert/deconstruct those clichés

capeshit is a product made for children to consume. complaining about the writing being bad is like complaining that a baby's crib isn't adult sized

I can't recall, how did they explain them being the same age?

Complaining about the complainers though, that definitely makes you a big man.

If you can't do anything about it, you can always laugh it off.
It doesn't excuse poor writing, but it's not necessarily a bad thing.

they all got snapped away, so they came back the same age 5 years later

never mind, I just read it again

The people who were unsnapped returned the same age as when they were snapped.

Because when they were snapped, they were erased from existence and when Iron Man snapped the gauntlet he got everyone back, but from the point 5 years ago when they disappeared, so, they were the same age they were in Infinity War.

Right, thanks. I think it would have been more interesting if Peter's friends had aged 5 years without him. Convenient that pretty much all his supporting cast got snapped away.

>Convenient that pretty much all his supporting cast got snapped away.
That's my point, it was lazy, nothing really mattered continuity wise. It might as well have not included the Avengers movies.

She's playing the same character as Elizabeth Banks?

was this in spiderman? youre first mistake was expecting anything but dumb fun from marvel. anyway, she can excuse her feet on my face, thats for sure.

I plan to kidnap Angry and not release her until her hair is down past her shoulderblades

Why is Angry Rice a side character that's not Gwen Stacey? She could've been a decent Gwen bu alas.

Maybe this cute blonde girl turns out to be Gwen Stacy in the same way Zendaya turned out to be "MJ".

she's not ugly enough to appeal to american zoomers

Depends on the context and genre.

Tell me about Angry. What infuriated her?

remember when no one wanted to see uncle ben die again so they made movies about a spiderman that doesn't learn about responsibility and doing the right thing no matter how hard it is

Iron Man is the Uncle Ben of this Spider Man

Do you think we're gonna see The Waynes die in The Batman?

What, you egg?
