Why film directors dont make ancient kinos anymore ?

Why film directors dont make ancient kinos anymore ?
There is a lot of kinos that we could make

>Diadochi wars
>Ashurbanipal
>Punic wars
>Triumvirates
>Cimbrian war
>Third Century Crisis

>eurocentric history
yikes

That film is shit for easily impressed people and people raised by single mothers

Too expensive. Also, why would you want them to? Do you want to see everything filled with niggers?

>2020
>Studio makes a "historically accurate" Euro-centric film
>Filled with black people of high status and interracial relationships
No thanks, the genre is better off dead then raped with pandering/misinformation

>raped with pandering/misinformation
show me one movie where they didn't do this

Did you see the new Ben Hur? King Arthur? Newest Robin Hood? No one saw them and they flopped. It's your fault they're gone for good

/thread

It's too expensive and they're not in vogue.

>Did you see the new Ben Hur? King Arthur? Newest Robin Hood?
>King Arthur

Yes, and I liked it.

well yeah our history is way better than USA's history (which is non-existent...)

That scene was utter garbage, rest of the movie is more than okay.

Hollywood still hasn't wrung out all it can from the cyberpunk tech wave futurism yet. See blade Runner, Hunger Games and all the rest of that YA shiet.
Ancient Kino peaked with Troy and died with the latest 300 movie. Play Bonerlord for ancient kino.

Accuracy wise, Gladiator was a trashfire of a historical movie. If it's more dumbed down prolefeed like that you want produced we can only be happy Hollywood execs aren't listening to you.

>King Arthur
Yeah it was kino.

cringe and shit tasting

>people always complain about something inconsequential about this movie like the roads were not made by horse drawn carriages or you can see a gas canister for a split second
>not the emperor getting into the arena with a trained soldier/gladiator

>blocks your path

Americans are too uneducated to be interested in these movies. There were attempts at making more of them, they bombed.

>King Arthur
this thread is about historical movies, not shitty fantasy movies

youtube.com/watch?v=wR48a1kLx0w
Same shit

Was this any good? It’s been sitting in my queue for months now

historical epics are risky, most of them do not make much money. occasionally you get a big hit like gladiator, but for every gladiator there are 10 alexanders

Fuck you Excalibur (1981) was great.

>eurocentric history
aka "history"

Also kino.

Well, that looks like absolute dogshit.

Watched this recently, has not aged well
Such an obvious product of the 2000s, slowmo, weird out of place sound effects

>being obsessed with race
they are just movies, turn off your brain haha

It's pretty nice, the evilness of the french king however takes it down from really good to just pretty cool

It was shit. If you had high hopes for Chalamet as an actor, prepare to see them evaporate.

fair enough

you can't be serious, this is videogame tier dogshit

calm down buddy
im talking about this

I think that's because in the West, what is popular among the elite is not to celebrate historical heroes or to praise the traditional virtues. They want to demolish all traditions.
If a movie is set in 1950's America, it will show it as a shitty society where everyone pretended to be perfect but where everyone was a huge despicable villain in their houses and where every family is super disfunctional.

The Chinese and Japanese do make historical epics about their histories.

I only recently discovered the Diadochi Wars (bravo American education system) and a series of it would be absolute kino. It's basically game of thrones only without a retarded ending, only issue would be the length since it goes on for decades with the same players getting significantly older as time goes on.

Oh and the reason that they don't make them is because they are expensive, why take a risk when you can put someone in modern times in spandex and make a billion per movie.

10/10 soundtrack attached to a solid but flawed 6/10 movie.

They don't make em like they used to.

it was decent, not terrible
watch it if you are in the mood for medieval shit

I thought that was something that actually happened and that the emperor "won" every match. The truth was that none of the gladiators were stupid enough to try to kill him and he didn't kill them either, just give them a bunch of wealth and stuff afterwards.

It was meh, the armor and costumes are ridiculous and fight scenes still woefully inaccurate.
Not historykino.

>ancient kino

umm, Immortals (2011) was kino.

Attached: Henry Cavill Immortals-2.jpg (2400x1628, 231.19K)

with the actual state of jewllywood its not a good idea

>Was becoming king part of your plan?
